Temil2006  [developer] Dec 12, 2017 @ 11:59pm
this is all depending on your PC. please goto the URL within this post at the very top of it and follow the instructions. there is a section that states the following with tells where they are.. they are the same for ALL other mod configs.

LINE FROM WEBSITE
  • Try to put them into the section [ServerSettings] of the GameUserSettings.ini (for the location of this file see Configuration Files).

I'm having an issue with the DisableAutoRecoverLootOnDeath settings. When I change the statement to True, then reboot my server. The setting changes itself back to False from True. No matter how many times I try this setting reverts back to False when I reboot the server. Any ideas what is going on. I use ARK Server Manager if that helps and I am currently using Ragnorak. The mods I am using in order of their load order are Structures Plus (S+), Immersive Taming, Loot Picker Upper, Salatools, and ASM V2.7.1294. Any ideas what could be causing it to reset to defaults?

Ace :: I have it set to where it the setting doesn't exist, then it places it in there for you. but it if does allready exist in the ini, it reads it. there is no direct method of writing to the ini, except for the method explained which only happens if it doesn't exist at all.

if I had to guess, it was something with auto-revert as some server hosts/ etc do that. I know the server host I run, I have to fully stop the server, wait about 3-5mins, then I can make changes to the ini. any ini changes during server running, or directly after it stops, without waiting a few mins, will revert to a previous ini values from when the server runs. not sure if that helps you.

Thank you for your reply. I tested your theory with no luck. I have no idea what could be happening here. My friends and I pretty much just said who cares after we kind of started to like respawing with our items. By the looks of the post on 02/23, I am not the only one seeing issues with this. I will monitor this to see if anyone else fiinds a solution in the future.

@Ace:

By the way, to really test this out I just did a brand new server install from scratch, totally vanilla everything. By the way, I have the dedicated machine next to me so there is not "host", the GUS INI file saves just fine and does not alter/revert.

All the following was with DisableAutoRecoverLootOnDeath=True in order to test for when the setting worked and the items were NOT returned upon re-spawning after character death.

Loot Picker Upper will from now on be referred to as LPU.

All server settings default, really, a new install.

Island map, LPU.
Works, no loot returned.

Island map with ACM and LPU.
Works, no loot returned.

Ragnarok Map with LPU.
Works, no loot returned.

Ragnarok map with Ark Eternal and LPU.
Works, no loot returned.

Ragnarok map with the following mods AND LPU:
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1311981262
Fails, loot returned.

***Note: That list contains Death Recovery Mod which is what we are using as a replacement for LPU, it was NOT in the list at the time the testing with LPU was performed as they would obviously conflict***

Hence some other mod is causing a conflict but which one, I don't have the time/patience to test and restart the server testing each one, its not immediately apparent to me which one is the cause, Temil, maybe one catches your eye.

Tunguska Map with LPU.
Fails, loot returned.

Some kind of incompatibility with the map as LPU was the only thing installed on a fresh start and new character.

Not sure if that helps maybe narrow down the issue, seems the mod is very sensitive to *something* and it breaks the loot return or in this case non-return function.

Max:: right off the bat, the one I can think of that would possable cause issue is "Death Recovery Mod" .. both my mod and that mod do similar function, as they are both triggered at the time of death. Havent tested it but I would say that's my best guess as to the cause.

when I seperate the mod up, that will allow you to pick which death recovery you prefer to use over the other.

DRM is the one we were using because we could not get yours to work the way we wanted, I didn't edit my collection before posting it here, my bad.
That is clear to me it would conflict, I can assure you I was NOT running both at the same time, DRM was put in after the fact because LPU was NOT working as we had intended.
I edited my text above to reflect this.

That and the fact that LPU will not work on the Tunguska map as even the ONLY mod running.
That's even more perplexing.

We are fine for now, will just wait for your new version(s), cheers.

Where's the option to disable the 15x and 25x crafting?
Or do I need to do that by hiding the engrams?

EDIT: nvm, found the engram names manually, hid them, and only then discovered that there was a thread about exactly that.

If it is the same as pretty much every other mod then a foundation is 300x300 units so you can go from there. 700 / 300 is 2.33 foundations (again, if that is what is intended/meant).

What is the maximum player and dino loot distance? I have tried all kinds of numbers and can't get it to really extend too far. Some mods can make dinos pretty big...lol

the default is what I posted in the info above which is normally pretty decent, however due to changes in how ark devs calculate distance on some maps, it can be a little off and not exactly a set number of foundations like i originally planned. Also note that due to some changes the devs applied over time in newer DLCs, there is a known issue where the settings only apply the first time. So for example, if you loaded the game 1 time with settings.. the only way to change those settings is to remove the mod.. restart the game/server .. set the values to whatever you want .. then readd the mod .. that will clear the object that holds the settings for all users. it's not ideal however i'm not planning on working on this mod until the new remaster of ark comes out and I see how the new mod support will work, at which time i'm planing on remaking it to support any new features, etc and fix that issue that has been caused by the way they changed how object values were stored for some objects and caused the bug of not being able to update the ini values to reflect changes desired.

Thank you for the fix! Been bugging me. I actually tried to change it and felt like it got smaller lol, but maybe thats in my head.

Also was wondering if there's any way to change the hotkey so it doesn't interact with drag?
