7/24/25 edit: even further discoveries, corrections, and updates!

Starting from weakest to strongest, here's a list of zombie and animal enemy types I've encountered in the Urals, plus some oddities I thought were worth mentioning.

TURNED

Standard Zombies: Run-of-the-mill Turned, found at basically every location. Some have mutated visually with grotesque growths. They drop slightly more xp (2 xp) than lesser zombies and normal civilian loot based on their profession.

Bandit Zombies: These zombies can be found somewhat rarely in locations where mischief is prevalent. They are just barely stronger than normal zombies and drop a tiny bit more xp (3 xp) than usual. They can often be seen with red or cobweb bandanas.

Explorer Zombies: Often found in groups of 1-3, these Turned occupy civilian, rural, and industrial locations and can be identified by their explorer outfit. They have seemingly standard health and damage compared to normal zombies. They drop a little more xp (~5 xp) and can sometimes drop ammo boxes.

Coastguard Zombies: These Turned are common in shoreline areas and can be found at multiple stations across the map. They have slightly more health than normal zombies, but unlike those in Hawaii they are not equipped with any military hardware. They drop coastguard clothes and some xp (~4 xp).

Military Zombies: Found at every military location in varying numbers based on how good the loot is, these Turned are marginally stronger in comparison and commonly spawn with vests and helmets that increase their resistance. Their drops are more valuable (7 xp) with military clothes, armor, ammo, magazines, and even guns like the Zubeknakov, Yuri, and Teklovka. They often cause bleeding with how hard they hit. There are multiple factions of military zombies including Russian, Greek, and Canadian/American.

Fallen Reds' Zombies: Somewhat rare to find on their own, these Turned spawn in groups in certain areas where Red Maxim's soldiers have failed and become infected, such as Vizhay Station and the Private Estate south of Bayanovka. Their spec ops armor makes them very resilient to damage. They drop slightly more xp (8 xp) than military zombies as well as ammo and guns, rarely. They seem to deal slightly more damage than military zombies as well and have a little more health.

Biohazard Zombies: These Turned can be found rarely accompanying military zombies and near certain deadzones. They are worth killing as they drop biohazard gear and medicine like standard Scorpion-7 zombies in Vanilla Unturned, as well as a good amount of xp (10 xp).

Mummies: Often found in ancient or religious places like Irbit Cathedral and the Monastery, these reanimated corpses are somewhat tankier than normal zombies and drop decent xp (~14 xp). They don't seem to have any special item drops, however.

Bone Cultist Zombies: These are new variants that can only be found at the Ghost Barns. They can drop police loot as well as a good amount of xp.

Advanced Medical Zombies: Fairly uncommon variants of normal medics, these Turned spawn in the same conditions as normal medic zombies. They are identified from their Civilian Nightvision and have around as much health as military zombies, dropping decent xp (15 xp) and medical equipment.

White Cultist Zombies: Seemingly the opposite of Red Maxim's soldiers, these Turned also wear civilian nightvision alongside white + gold robes. They are much rarer and seem to only spawn in groups of 1 at random obscure locations, but can be found more often at a few locations like Maslovo Tracks. They drop standard xp.

Ghillies/Bushwookie Zombies: Found rarely in a number of locations, including civilian and military, these Turned are slightly tougher than Biohazard Zombies and hit rather hard. They are most commonly found in groups of 1, rarely are there multiple at a time. They can sometimes be seen with Military Nightvision. They drop good xp (20 xp) as well as ghillie clothing and netting.

Izlöm: The first non-standard Turned, these tan-skinned zombies with wretched faces can almost always be found in groups of 1 at set locations, including aircraft crash sites, places of worship, and areas with high military activity. They have substantially increased health, dealing around the same damage as military zombies. They drop loads of xp (~75 xp) and can drop weapon attachments. They are based off of the cut enemy from S.T.A.L.K.E.R. of the same name, meaning "fracture" or "fissure" in Russian.

Bloodsuckers/Krosovos: The second non-standard Turned, these mutated zombies can rarely be found in similar conditions to Izlöms, but more attributed in underground and rural areas as opposed to military settlements. Headshots are practically useless and the only way to kill them is by hitting their arms and legs (legs being most effective). They deal immense damage, cause bleeding, and have a massive amount of health. They drop a lot of xp (~120 xp) and can drop their tentacles, which can be traded to Stanislav for 200 xp. They are based off of the Bloodsuckers from S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

Ancient Explorer Zombie: By far the rarest of the standard zombies, I've only been able to find one of them on the whole map near the lightning-struck tree at the Frozen Lake in the Southeast corner. He can be identified by his aged cloth outfit and wood snowshoes on his back. He has insane hp (almost that of a mega) and drops a huge amount of xp (~250 xp if I remember correctly).

MEGAS

The Vampire Hunter: This special mega zombie can only be found in the Ghost Barns. Perhaps he is the ghost referred to in the name? He drops a load of xp (~650 xp) as well as police loot. [uses the Vampire Hunter stockpile outfit]

Yeti: Mythological cryptids spawn in specific locations on the map, including the Frozen Lake in the southeast corner, in Gorod Morgan, and down a small slope at a certain legendary pass by the skeletonized corpses of unfortunate hikers. They have INSANE health (seriously took at least 5 minutes of stabbing in the back of the head with a butterfly knife to kill, thank god for stunlock), deal high damage (like getting hit by a boulder thrown by a normal mega) drop a ton of xp (~1150 xp) as well as leather and venison.

Davy Jones: Another of the rarest Megas, this guy spawns in the heart of the Shaytanka Bog (I've not found him anywhere else) and can be hard to spot with his green body and cthulhu head. He also deals immense damage and has incredibly high health, slightly less than that of the Yetis. He drops a ton of xp (~850 xp) as well as Loonies and Toonies. (yay!)

The Bolkov Beast: This massive knight zombie clad in black and red armor resides somewhere in the Bolkov Castle. Be ready to pour hundreds of bullets into this guy to get his massive bounty of xp (~1600 xp) as well as his drops of high tier ranger loot! [uses the Lu Bu stockpile outfit]

Super Bushwookies: A rather rare high-tier variant of the ghillie zombies, I've only found these megas in three specific locations. Two can be found at Severouralsk Hotel and the other in the quarantine chamber of the Urals Research Center. They will drop extremely valuable military loot.

Super Eskimo: Arguably the rarest mega of them all. I've only spotted this guy in one incredibly treacherous spot, high above the Queen's Lake. Near the summit of the mountain is a small clearing with a hidden snowy cache, which can be guarded by the Super Eskimo. I'm unsure how much health he has and what he drops as this area is so high up that it requires an Oxygenator to stay there without suffocating. The cache can spawn rubles as well as rare military loot.

Various other Megas can spawn rather commonly in most high-traffic areas, varying from construction Megas to military Megas and even some police Megas. Instead of dropping standard mega loot, they will often drop loot based on their profession. (police mega drops Kryzkareks and Vonyas alongside police clothes and handcuffs; construction mega drops generators and spotlights and metal materials, etc)

ANIMALS / CREATURES

Spiders: The first animals on this list, these eight legged freaks come in multiple variants of size and colorings of black or brown. They are dreadfully hostile (as with all animals on this list) and guaranteed to freak you out if you encounter one. Their health and damage are relative to their size and drop 1-8 spider eyes, which can be eaten, used to craft the creeps and crawlers poster, or traded with Stanislav for 16 XP each.

Kikimora: Arguably more terrifying than the spiders, these gray creatures are often hard to spot among the terrain. They will charge at you much faster than the spiders and deal more damage, having higher health as well (~8 pistol shots). They seem to be slightly unfinished as they dont have any ragdoll upon death. Beware using melee or approaching the area where they died as a glitch occurs where it will start to deal rapid damage in that area, even after it is dead. They drop nothing but good xp (~40 xp).

Shirimps: These weird, green carapaced bugs are also difficult to spot in the terrain. Much like the chimera, they're unfinished and have no drops or ragdoll model. The same glitch occurs as the chimera as well, where if you approach the area where it died you will take rapid damage even after it is killed. They thankfully move much slower than the chimera but are much tankier, taking around 10 pistol shots. They will give a large amount of xp on death.

Demon Spider / Spider Queen: If you thought the Yeti or Davy Jones had a lot of health, you probably don't want to try fighting this terrifying, beastly spider. I've only been able to find this horror in the secret chamber under the Ancient Wall. It took around 80 shots from the CB-98 (which does around 900 animal damage) and two full Hell's Fury drums (cheater) to finally kill it, which got me ~2000 XP as well as a bunch of spider eyes. This one may be a new addition as I don't recall being scared out of my skin by it when I first explored the chamber.

Anomalies / Electra: Unstable electromagnetic forces. Do not approach. They are often seen "wandering" mountain tops and rarely can intrude into civilian areas. The Isle of the Dead is particularly rife with these beings.

Sharks: The waters are no longer safe. Watch out for sharks that circle a predetermined area, damaging any player that comes near their territory. If you randomly start taking acid damage, there is a shark nearby. They are found in bodies of water that are connected to the open ocean. A trio of them surround the close shores of the Isle of the Dead, so be warned.

The Shadow: A previously sealed mine on the south bluff of the Kolonga Lighthouse is now open. Delving down into the heart of the mine is almost guaranteed to be a fatal mistake. A mortifying shadow creature dwells down here, protecting huge stockpiles of high-tier military and construction loot. The Shadow retreats into the ground when it sees the player but is too far away to hit them, preventing you from killing it cheaply. (It can still get stuck on the minecart tracks, which is how I was able to kill it safely.) It doesn't seem to have too much health, ~15 shots from the CB-98 were able to kill it, dropping ~500 XP. A miner mega zombie can also be found in the lower cavity alongside or without The Shadow, as their spawn chances are random. Be warned, as more than of The Shadow can spawn at once. This seems to be the same type of mob that was used in that one Scorpion-7 adventure map as the final boss in that map's weird hidden portal room. (If you do decide to go into the mine, make sure to bring ladders so you can get out!)

ODDITIES

Weeper Guy: Hidden away in the Bolkov Castle dungeon, this static prop NPC (cannot be interacted with) cries among the zombified corpses of his prisoner colleagues. If I remember correctly he is also an asset used in the Scorpion-7 adventure map.

Denezkhin Kamen Reserve Mining Fissure: Just northeast of the lighthouse is a large mine which seems to have discovered something that should have remained untouched. A crack emanating otherworldly energy sits at the bottom of the mining reservoir.

Blood Cave: On the part of land directly north of Vizhay lies a mysterious cave whose exterior is smeared with a massive amount of blood. It seems animals have a higher chance of spawning here, but that may just be a sort of placebo effect and they just end up spawning there regardless due to the spawning system. There is no loot of mention here.

The Serpent Queen: Unarguably the most challenging NPC to visit (and with no reward to mention), this slimy snake empress is found in the deepest depths of the Ancient Frozen Lake. There was a challenge hosted previously by the map creator in which it was a race to find her. Not only do you need to go through hordes of Krosovos and mummy zombies, but you also need to bring explosives to break a wall leading to her chamber. I hope she will have more of a use in future updates!

Underwater Ruins: Directly south of the quarry is Reka Bobrovka, a large frozen lake which can be swam under. Using the break in the ice in the south river runoff of the lake will let you explore the underwater ruins, which sadly don't have any purpose other than being interesting as there is no loot or creatures. Maybe it will be a quest location in the future for retrieving something. Be sure to bring a diving tank and a snorkel!

Yamantau: Unofficially named as such by me, this military complex entrance can be located in the furthest northeast corner of the map. It seems mostly unfinshed with no zombie or loot spawns, but I'm sure it will be utilized in future updates. I've called it Yamantau in reference to the Call of Duty: Black Ops campaign mission "WMD," which depicted Yamantau as housing a large Soviet military complex. ((If I had any input, I'd definitely make crossbows and explosive arrows have a chance to spawn here in further reference to the game as those were also used in the mission!))

Roadkill Symbol: There is what seems to be a decal with a plague doctor and a crow in the road by a car in the three-way intersection between 3-Y Severnyy and the Eastern Blockade. I have no idea what this could mean.

Train Tunnel Cave: In the train tunnel running between 3-Y Severnyy and Severouralsk is a cave which has a sealed door which requires a generator to open. Inside is a large, empty, open cave system which can be used as a good base location.

Shaytanka Hidden Bunker: In the waterfall over the Shaytanka Bog, there is a discolored part of rock which can be destroyed to reveal a cave system which leads to a bunker, which is currently unfinished but will be a cool hidden location in the future!

Rod's Body: At the top of one of the supports for the Suspension Bridge is a little display of environmental storytelling. If you go hunting in the waters below the bridge, you can find Rod, or at least what's left of him.

Unearthed Safe: In the south reaches of the Bleak Tundra lies an impromptu digging operation.

Cliffhanger: Near the summit of the highest mountain (the one with ice caps), you can find the skeleton of a climber along with his climbing axes, one still stuck in the ice where he had been trying to reach the summit.

Unmarked Research Center: Just south of the Kholat mountain sits a large Deadzone node with high-tier loot. There is a chamber under the frozen lake which houses the largest archaeological site on the map. The key from the Urals Research Center's basement is required to open the door to the dig site. There are tons of zombies, Krosovos, and good items here, as well as another otherwordly fissure in the ground. The trading NPC Kiril can also be found here, who sells the best equipment in the map and also has a lengthy backstory. You'll know Kiril is near if you see his red sickle motif.

Deadzone Dumpsite: A cave under the South-East Placement was chosen (likely by the URC) to be the site of radioactive materials disposal. The waters of the cave are swarming with zombies as well as research loot among a slurry of toxic barrels and crates.

CONCLUSION

These are just all of the enemies I've encountered in my playthrough so far and I will definitely update this with any new finds and information I come across.

An accurate, and although comprehensive, not full account of the enemies of the Ural Mountains, as you said. Thanks for passing on your experiences to the aid of others :).
