Forum post by someone who made a polygamy mod, which includes the ability to marry ladies as a female character.:
"Multiple Spouses?"[forums.taleworlds.com]
(I'm still parsing through the code on this one to see all the gender checks that were removed or changed and comparing them to the Viking Conquest source code. I'm trying to mirror the changes related to same-sex marriage as I go, without adding the polygamy due to the amount of extra coding that comes with it)
Forum post outlining a basic way of allowing you to court and marry ladies as a female character: "Marrying female companion lords as a female character"[forums.taleworlds.com]
(Not a complete overhaul in itself, just a starting point).
VC: https://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?topic=349080.0
Native: Actually, I'll link this one as it not only provides the module system, but it also gives all the required instruments.

Editing conversations and flavor text is easy enough with the notepad files. Even gender-checks to give alternate titles is a quick edit. I'm not too versed in .py though. Gonna need another few weekends before I start down that rabbit hole.
In Viking Conquest, you can get your wife pregnant. Thought about doing some modifications for disabling it if you're female, but leaving it in works for "I guess your character's trans" and that's amusing too.
I love all of this.
+10 from me.
(also, start dabbing with .py, you'll find a much easier time and also less risk of breaking things)
Companions are a little more involved in VC than they are in Native. There's camp conversations, the possibility of becoming an adventurer (when you dismiss them, they might strike out on their own), custom text for when they're fighting you... Some of the NPCs only have conversations in camp with you if you're of the opposite sex. Maybe all of them? That's going to be fun to play with.
Most of the base conversations are a quick fix, too, but Solveig's doesn't make much sense if you're female. Her deal is, she's in love with the player-character (arguably only a male one if you go by the gender-specific edits and ignore a few inconsistencies, but it's a weak argument: she calls a female player-character "my pretty" and still follows her around, singing praises and being unable to bear being away for too long), but doesn't want to end up a mother, as it would rob her of her freedom.
I'm not entirely sure what to do with her conversation. She's not like Dwywei or Helgi, who aren't worried about that and would just need minor edits. "My virginity must remain intact" doesn't make much sense if she's only worried about a pregnancy ending her life as a free woman. Unless.... she knows what a female player-character is capable of?
<,,< I mean, female-player-character being trans was a joke, but it's not like she can get pregnant if she has a husband? At least, I don't think that happens, or if it does that'd be hard to do with the character always fighting and marching about the countryside. And it sort of sheds a light on some noble saying "I suppose you're no more womanly than any of the warriors under my banner."
So yeah. Interpretation's weird sometimes.
I'm just a bit up the creek for new companion ideas. I've got four in mind that I mostly just need to finish all the flavor text for as well as fleshing out some builds, but I'd rather not just have a harem for the player-character when a mostly unmodded VC already has that taken care of. So I guess the alternative would be to research the setting and start with basic concepts from different factions.
...but the trashy side of me wants to poke fun at the christian/pagan faith system by having a somewhat pious guy have impure thoughts over a norseboy that slathers butter all over his bare chest before a battle.
And then the last 2 lines came.
I will support you to the end of times from now on.

Now picture me bursting into a room with bags under my bloodshot eyes, a larger, more unkempt beard, and breath that sounds like rum and coffee.
I spent a ton of time ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around with the WRECK system to try and get it to work with VC, but I put that to the side for now. The point is, I now know for sure that I have it working for romancing ladies.
Nice one mike, when you think we will be able to cover your 0.1 release? 😁 I'm eager to link and promote it!
I actually have to do a few things to make totally sure it's compatible with the new update. So long with no updates to VC, then this one drops days after I complete the first version of the mod...
Interestingly, Morrigan had some lines for female romance that were commented out. I'm going to be messing with these for v.0004, as well as the Solveig lines. That should give me some good practice with adjusting gender checks rather than outright removing them. I'll need that for the future to further the mod towards unique dialog options.
How do I upload mods to the workshop? I couldn't find an answer specifically for Warband for some reason.
Link all that juicy mod.
Aside from the good work of the rest of the messages, this one caught me.
Were they commented out without notes?
This could mean they actually plan to do something about it for Bannerlord I guess, then.
