Some advice for gem empire lore, gem types and what they do, and so on
Hi there, I just found this mod and, first and foremost? Thank you. Thank you for making it, this is a wonderful mod and it pretty much has the balls to point out that "yes, this is a genocidal empire led by fascists who see their species as superior, and unlike the cop-out show, it can show you just how cruel and heartless it was in the game"

That, being, said...I noticed from other threads (unless you fixed these by now), that you seem to have a strange, borderline hyper-literal interpretation of the gems and their role. To be fair, the show was very wish-washy and scattershot about its worldbuilding, so not all of it can be blamed on you, but I'd like to offer a few notes on how gems appear to work and any logical follow-ups that can be drawn from that based on educated guess-work.

1: Rubies, Quartzes and Topazes seem to follow a linear line of "canon fodder, proper line soldier, and elite soldier", like the hastati, principes, and triarii, but somewhat different. You seem to have literally taken that one ruby's role as squad captain to mean that rubies are able to be generals, when that's not exactly true. Rubies are notoriously cheap and high in numbers, very expendable, which is ironic when you consider that one of their possible assignments in-show is to guard Sapphires, a gem so highly regarded that it feels criminal that these literal future-seers dont get a Topaz instead.

Quartzes would probably just be represented as regular troops, but I CAN see them having the odd elevated soldier among them. Jasper for example was elevated as a perfectly cut gem, and through valor, was able to command her own personal space vessel with a crew (albeit her crew was like two people large, but I digress). Speaking of Quartzes, this is another part where I believe you got too...hyper-literal. Just because we only ever see Quartzes on Earth and in an Earth context doesnt mean that they only existed on Earth. Furthermore, its strongly implied that the various Quartz colors rarely mean they have specific personalities or specific weapons.

Perhaps there are trends here and there that grant each Quartz a more particular, specific lean on that front (like how Amethysts may be more quirky and relaxed fighters while Jaspers are practically shock troops and are thus very prideful), but I dunno if theyd be dead-stereotypical in terms of behavior.

Topazes are rarely touched upon, but they clearly have an elite status and are also some of the only gems we know who are authorized to fuse if necessary. I'd say they could be another candidate to produce generals...but then that leads me to number 2.

2: We actually have a type of General in the lore! Its Garnets! Crimson Garnets, Pyrope Garnets, Demantoid Garnets, Hessonite Garnets, and so on, are all explicitly stated to command whole entire armies. Yes, the only crimson garnet we ever see is a fusion, but its confirmed that fusions have single-gem equivalents throughout the empire for the most part by Mx. Sugar themself.

3: Admirals are easy, Emeralds. Although we see very little of them by the time the show ends, the one Emerald we do see is clearly in charge of a capital vessel, and thus they are a perfect choice for that.

4: Governors are a bit more tricky, since we dont know much of any gem type thats meant to govern specific areas, but we do know that Zircons are lawyer gems for the most part, and probably have no business doing any governing work. Perhaps this one can be relegated to a Garnet (like a military governate) or a Sapphire (they probably have duties outside of fortune telling, and are a naturally high rank gem).

5: I wanted to end off with a fifth and final point. Make sure you really play up the evil of this empire. You probably do so in the mod, but I cannot stress enough that the show completely and utterly failed to show the true potential of how wretched this empire was, so writing a horrifying parasitic empire like this for what it really is? That's very important.

PHEW, got all that written out. Sorry to bug you with such a huge post out of nowhere, I hope I havent seemed rude or anything ^_^'
