Ideas for Additional Modules
First off, gotta say this mod is excellent, amazing work.

I just thought I'd drop a few ideas for module development that would be fun to see since I'm not a modder myself:

Searchlight/Flare - The headlights are great but you can't aim them down, could be fun for coop if one player is stuck out in the dark.

Droppable Care Package- could heal an area or stave off hunger, (don't know if thats even possible)

Droppable recon/assault drones - think like the Scandroid, possibly with a function to move the camera to their position like the Recon Eye special ability on that one sword.(can't think of the name right now)

Cargo Hold - a module/ship variant that would allow you to store items in the ship itself

Thats all I got for now, but feel free to add on to this if you think of something else.

Сделай так , что бы экипаж корабля (которых ты взял с собой ) могли садиться на пассажирскии места и взаимодействовать с орудиями , т.е могли стрелять!

Additional idea. just tossing it out there, the hover junker from Rick and Morty. complete with beer bottle sounds when getting in or out. possibly the ability to drop nuetrino bombs and/or chronenberg gas,

I'm probably going to change the way shuttlecraft modules work in the next update. Right now their behavior is mainly scripted in the shuttlecraft script, which make adding new modules very inconvenient since you constantly have to alter the main shuttlecraft script (which may also impact performance if alot of modules are added).

I'm working on a kind of script hook system that should make it easier to add new modules and that also (hopefully) increases performance a little bit.

However, there will still be limitations (either by the mod or Starbound itself). A feature I had planned was to have shuttlecraft have cargo slots in which you can store items, but as far as I know its impossible to open a container window or scripted UI from a vehicle so I don't see that happening anytime soon.

The recon drone idea was actually something I was experimenting with before I released the mod. Right now I am working on some other major features but when I have the time I might look into creating something like this.

Oh ok I see, thats a bummer about the cargo slots but that makes sense. At any rate keep up the great work Boze, hoping to see more servers adopt this mod!

Hey i got a idea what if you can make one of the crew can be a co-pilot and each crew do amazing thing. (i got idea for of the some of the crew the engineer can heal the ship when he is co-pilot or passenger, the chemist boost the medivac ship heals and it give the boost of the chemist stim pack (it like he is in the ship but in the medivac ship) it do not work when he is co pilot and it only work when he is in the medivac passenger seat, and the janitor is just a co-pilot that all i got.)

why not have something like a ground support frame so you could drop temporary turrets and have decent armour but be like a snail when it comes to speed

I'd like to have NPCs able to board shuttlecraft, but there are alot of problems with that since vehicles aren't really built for NPCs. The default NPC AI behavior messes things up, and vehicles are controlled by player input. So even if you manage to get the NPC to stay in the shuttlecraft, it won't do anything (like firing at enemies) without writing some sort of substitute AI.

Regardless, this is something I have been working on for the last few weeks and things are looking good. I still have to figure alot of things out, but if I can make it work we'll be getting our crewmember co-pilots in the next update.

At this moment I'm not planning to add more frames, I'd rather give the existing frames some additional options/unique modules to install. I do like the idea of dropping turrets and it may be something I'll look into when I have more time. I'm thinking maybe a special module for the bomber frame that allows you to do this? What do you think?

I think it is a great idea, thats kinda where I got the idea to create this post, maybe a unique droppable for each frame (recon gets drones, bomber gets turrets, med evac gets care package/flare, etc)

how about a special turret module in the same slot as the headlight modules, the turret would be able to fire in any direction and auto aims but has a low dps, also, change the terrain damaging bombs to a stand alone module in the special slot, or even a mine launcher module?

I like the idea of the auto-firing turret. A module like that is going to take alot of more work to make however.

About the terrain damaging bombs. I personally feel this should be a main feature of the bomber frame. What else would be the point of having that frame in the first place if every frame could do it.

There are alot of good suggestions and ideas for this mod, but unfortunately I cannot implement them all. Like any other person I don't have unlimited time so I have to make choices. The next update will largely be NPC related, but a few new modules will be added. Maybe after that update is done I can spend some more time looking at these ideas.

or it can do a healing burst that way, it can heal multiple people at once
