Working with alternative eyes
Hey folks,

The dealie:

Eyes that are either non standard in shape (oval/square) or textures, attempting to get them to properly follow the same looking around behavior as default source engine eyes. I origionally thought simply setting it up with hitpos might work, however that excludes the ability for the eyes to automatically track/look at those that are in their field of view and close enough, as well simply getting object to follow hitpos, if they are not a perfect circle will clip though/look odd, or simply move in in a way thats not intented for the particular eye motion.

I ran into this a while ago with a robot PAC I had and eventually gave up on trying to figure it out, now running into this again while trying to set up some other things that folks are asking about.

I've attempted playing around mostly with moving textures through proxy, as this would likely solve my issue though all shapes I believe, given that I would only have to adjust the texture/material as well as the proxy for almost all given shapes. As of yet I have been unable to find any examples of what I am looking for as well. If anyone has any examples that have this that would be great..!

Thanks,

~Rio:melon:

If you want your eyes to look at people. I do on the ANgle. not really sure what its called. LOCALEYES_YAW. It follows players eyes and the players see the eyes following them. (not around just looking at them) this isnt what you're looking for but you can try

But how would you make it follow the owners eye yaw angles (just a singular axis of the owners eye angles)
