The hardest and most time consuming part, even in Creative mode, is the frame. You have to fly around a lot to get to each section. So it will be awhile before I get back to it for an update.
As for Dreadnaught class ships, I think they are a special case and will require a different type of shipyard, say something like a half-shell that allows for expansive constructions and a special SV class (using spot lights) designed as a lighting rig, like this:

While it is big, it actually isn't big enough to handle supercarriers like others have designed, then again, any bigger and the lights would be pretty worthless
I have stalled on creating new blueprints until the Alpha comes out next week. I predict there will be a flood of really cool stuff by many authors after that.
It is based on the SV frame so it can use the spotlight block for lighting. I think something like that in the shape of a shipyard is possible though. A CV version would require a Warp Core and Thrusters, so something like that would probably be a "fleet mobile repair tender".
