Paradise Reef No Mods Version

Description
Seeing errors? Here's the solution. Yes, unfortunately the solution is a mod, but I just published a map much like this without this problem.. Look for Harapan Island.
Problem: You may experience an error when opening many people's workshop maps. There is a simple cause, but it took a while for modders to figure out how to fix this until / if the developers can find a way around this.
Before it was not a problem if you did not want to subscribe to custom trees on maps. They just opened without the custom trees. Now, the game has changed so that extra trees will show an object error and not let you proceed, not just for you players, but also for us map makers! I couldn't get in to my own maps.
Now, we're in luck: Katalyst has added a new function to his unlimited trees mod that tells the game to ignore that error.
- Before opening a problem map or starting a new city with a problem map, activate this mod in content manager.
- Now go to the options menu, look at the lower left, click this mod's tab, and then instead of "DoNothing" you will want to select "replace" or "remove" in the new module's dropdown.
- Now open your problem map (mapmakers) / start your new city (players) - It should work now!

There might be other issues out there that have the same symptoms but are not caused by a tree, but at least for the maps of mine that I have checked, this has solved it. . https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=455403039&searchtext=tree

+++++++++++++

Original map found here, it now has the new Map Theme Polynesia: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=627240344

This version has no map theme attached to it. You will get the regular tropical environment.

You still can get all the optional decoration and custom trees on this version as well, including reefs and custom waterfalls!
The decoration will appear automatically for you just like the modded map's decoration, ***but sign up for them before starting your city*****

Sign up for the range of plants and rocks here: http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=576339119

TIP: When you load this in vanilla, try this unusual idea out. Change the LUT to European. It's my fave for tropical vanilla. The combination of fully treed mountains and the Euro LUT's color spectrum will make your vanilla map turn into a deep. lushly green paradise, and the water will be oh so blue!!

For all images (other than these no mod shots) and instructions and help images (where resources are for example) go to the main map's page

***Many thanks to the creators of the mods and beautiful items that make these maps and items possible: TPB, Shroomblaze, Breeze, XAVE, boformer, ryanjamesoflondon, Soldyne**** When clicking on the required items to the right, please go visit their Workshop pages to see their other creations!

Alright, thank you! Playing currently on the map (with the Polynesia map theme) ;-)

Sorry, I meant to say "I added into the game's new map theme system to make the Polynesia theme". The inability to edit a comment is at times annoying :D

So the collection of trees, rocks and plants are still the same, and they will appear automatically when you open a new game by subscribing to them at this link: http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=576339119
And then to answer your question, the following that used to require a mod were transferred into the game's new map theme system: Colors of: mountains, grass, water, beaches, resources. New things include: weather/ climate, brighter starry skies at night, different sunsets and more. So, the new system adds some cool stuff! :)
I'm sorry, this does make it confusing, but it's cool that they included this into the game itself, isn't it? Any other questions feel free to ask, and have fun!

Thanks for your reply.
So the things that were "mods" in the earlier version are now the features included in the polynesia map theme?
MrMiyagi  [author] Mar 3, 2016 @ 10:29am
Hi Sparrow Prince, I wrote out a lot and it got pretty confusing. In sum, the need to make a mods free version no longer exists. We had to before the new map theme feature came out. So yes you will get the Palms and all the other decoration. They're not mods, they're decoration and trees. Many people call that sort of thing a mod, but a mod is an actual change to your game's programming, and that was required previously by the original map. Another change is that now the colorful roses that made the reef look amazing now lose their color like all other trees and plants when near (or in this case under) water. Last point, if you wish, you can have a "map theme" that simulates the climate and looks of the South Pacific. That's found here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=627240344

@MrMiyagi
So this also contains the custom assets like the Robusta Palms? (Although I could play it without)
I don't really get then the difference between the modded and unmodded version of the maps^^
Which mods contains the modded version that this doesn't?

I absolutely love islands so I'll definitely try it out.

Hi BDCalhoun, It does have the trees and rocks and any decoration. If you happen to have those items already, they will show up. If you don't, not a problem at all! The vast majority of the trees on Paradise Reef are one of two vanilla tree types and a vanilla bush that is used in the coral reef because it ends up looking by seaweed. Whoops I forgot to give a link to the collection to add these items!
