Description
Updated 2018, totally new road and rail construction.. now 3 highway connections and 1 rail, which all run in tunnels under the ocean to reappear on the island.

Like terraces / mesas / plateaus? This is the map for you! The terrain has been carefully hand-sculpted to build a system of flat terraces disguised by natural cliff or hilsides covered with heavily treed jungles. As your city builds up step by step, it will appear very natural! As it goes up the central hill, there will be areas of treed hillside, making the flat terraced terrain look like a city build on a hill.

A moderately challening terrain because you have to work around the terrain, but thanks to tunnels you can just run tunnels under the tiny hillsides that separate each terrace. You can also change this map to your liking!

This map location was a personal request, and it is indeed a very nice location for a CS map!

Fixed the "too many ships" issue seen on earlier maps. The Start Area and the water utility shelf are where the shipping lanes pass by the island. The north shore (the beaches) does not have shipping lanes.
3 rail links
3 highway links

Note that one rail and one highway has a double connection, which means the traffic coming in will be twice as heavy. A challenge for you. After all, it's an island. One solution I have come up with is to create a bypass highway with only onramps which allows traffic passing through the map, or going out of city, to avoid your inner city highway infrastructure / network. Underground is a nice place to locate such a bypass highway.

This is a tropical map, and the pictures I am using the custom terrain textures found on my New Caledonia map. You will have a very nice map in standard textures, though, as those default purple colored cliffsides are covered in lush jungles.

Coming up next:
1. An amazing, monumental location in Africa
2. Summer relaxation on the islands of Stockholm
3. A magical journey to an exotic location in the Middle East. I am hoping the After Dark expansion will be out for this map

@MrMiyagi I was thinking maybe maps based off or inspired by one of Africa's booming cities such as Lagos, Abidjan, Kinshasa, and stuff. I feel like that part of the world gets little attention and it would be cool to see some maps of those places.

That's been on my mind for a long time, actually. Great idea. Do you have Parklife DLC? I can use some cool things from the DLC zoo items for this.

Since we have map themes, it's possible to do something unusual like a savannah environment, something we couldn't do before. What are your thoughts? Maybe a savannah bordering a rift lake? Mr Maison has that nice acacia tree, so that will work out great.

Re: West Africa, unless it was a map of a real place, I'm not sure what could distinguish a West African inspired map from other jungle coastline maps.

I wouuldn't be able to start this for a long while, but I think it's a great idea.

Can you possibly do more Africa-inspired maps something like resembling west and central Africa? I feel like there aren't enough of these in the workshop.

Hi Alex, this was a custom request, and it's both real and fantasy :D The island's shapes, volcano and crater lakes are from the real Nosy Be island off Madagascar, but pretty much the rest is fantasy (the terrain of terraced flat areas flattened out for easier city building, highway connections, extra islands for rail and highway connections, etc)

Hi. Is this real place or fictional? I prefer fictional ones, but it doesn't really matters - I am just curious

LOL I didn't think of that myself :D Definitely have the best vanilla from Madagascar. Hmm, makes me wonder, does that make this map the best vanilla map in the world? :chirp:
