Paleo Zoo - A Planet Zoo Collaboration

Welcome to Paleo Zoo! This is a collaborative project between a group of four friends, ConcordForge, StoppableSan, LionRider and Beezy. We had the idea to complete a collaborative zoo for once, after several efforts have stopped dead in their tracks. After much progress, from passing the file back and forth, giving each other suggestions, taking and removing certain things and eventually putting the finishing details on the map, we were able to complete it!

Paleo Zoo comprises Seven Main Areas for you to explore. The first of which is the main plaza, where Bedrock-inspired cars and houses bring you right back in time to the Stone Age. Here, you might see some peculiar birds, like the Dodo! From here, you can go pretty much anywhere, but you might be drawn instantly towards “La Brea, California 10,000 Years Ago”! Here, you’ll see some of the animals that used to call California home, including some that you wouldn’t think of being from America! Stand short beneath Giant Ground Sloths or Columbian Mammoths, or become mesmerized by the patterns of the Hagerman Horses and Tetrameryx!
You’ll soon be led to a cold region, where “Glacier Valley” awaits you. Here, you’re able to walk amongst Woolly Mammoths, get up close and personal with Cave Lions, or even see what kinds of herbivores would make their way across the green valleys surrounded by the ice caps.
Leading from the Ice Caves of the Ice Age, you’re soon brought to a Marble Quarry, and you’ll begin your “Paleodyssey at Fossil Falls”, the European section! Here you’ll see examples of Insular Dwarfism or Insular Gigantism, with larger-than-life Otters and Hedgehogs, as well as tiny Swans and Elephants! Look up high and you should be able to see Myotragus, or the Cave Goat, scaling these impressive cliffs.
Africa shines especially well here as you enter “The Cradle of Life”, with creatures that are just a bit too familiar, but something is just a bit off about them! Here, you’ll see elephants with four tusks, a giraffe-like creature, the Sivatherium, that sports moose-like ossicones, the infamous Quagga and Bluebuck and so much more!
Not only mainland Africa, but “Madagascar” also gets a chance to shine. Here, you’re able to meet birds the size of elephants, Hippos as small as Moo-Deng, as well as a variety of weirdly-shaped Lemurs that used to roam the island! Be careful though, as the Voay might snatch you up!
To end on, stop by “Ozzie-B.C.” where you’ll find a Tiger from Tasmania, giant kangaroos, and strange Chicken-like creatures that used to call New Caledonia home, all within a lush tropical paradise!

If you’re planning on visiting Paleo Zoo for yourself, please make sure that if you’re comfortable with it, you download the required mods for the full experience. This map utilizes only New Species as well as a Map Retexture mod, so you’re able to load in without any mods, but it is highly recommended for the best and intended experience.
