MIs – TINY VFX

Description

A tiny mod focused on action-packed VFX to make your battles feel raw, brutal, and alive. Here’s what’s inside:

1) Arrows stay forever.
Took twelve damn years, but now arrows stick where they land. No neat little rows, no perfect alignment—just messy, random chaos like in real life. Models and textures got a fresh upgrade too.

2) Projectiles trails.
Tactical visibility meets cinematic beauty. Sieges and naval battles? Now they look like hell.

3) Brand new blood.
Did we need it? Maybe not. But now every fight is soaked in 2K gore. Blood, puke, and, yeah, even sh!t—splattered across the battlefield and the campaign map.

4) New fire textures.
For those who like it hot in 2K.

5) Winter is great again.
No more ugly white decals on units and terrain. Snow, rain, clouds—all overhauled. Now, a battlefield in the snow looks right—cold, brutal and unforgiving.

6) More action, more dirt.
Flying debris in infantry clashes, chunks of earth kicked up by charging cavalry—because a little extra chaos never hurt.

What else?
Didn’t want you to choose between this and the fantastic Para Bellum Effects, so with AveMetal’s blessing, I integrated its best features—dust effects, firestorm scripts, and more. Big thanks to Ave!

FPS-friendly?
Optimized as much as possible, but expect drops in large-scale naval battles with fire arrows. If that’s an issue, grab the Lite version below. The difference is only in flaming arrows trails.

Installation:
1. Subscribe to the mod (Blood DLC required).
2. Download movie.pack of your preferred version (Full / Lite) and drop it into the game’s data folder (copy link and delete ***): mediafire.***com/file/afn0f6cym7u7thz/Tiny_VFX.zip/file

3. Enable the use of Movie type mods in Rome 2 (Options / Mods in the game menu)
4. Set effects & terrain quality to Very High / Ultra in settings.
5. Have fun

Compatibility:
Works with DEI and any mod that doesn’t mess with effects. Just load this one on top in Mod Manager. Remove previous effects movie pack if used one.

Credits & Thanks:
• AveMetal and the Para Bellum mod.
• The DEI discord community.
• KAM 2150 for testing
• Screenshots taken with Legendary Empires HD + HeWasaConsulOfRome: Rome HD

Update 01:
- arrow fire and fireballs textures
- minor clean-ups
- reworked blood animations. Overall less Tarantino style, but still visually appealing. In order to make it work, you have to redownload and change the movie pack. New file (copy link and delete ***): mediafire.***com/file/oqe0vulgjnssjf2/MIs_tiny_vfx_movie.pack/file

A small bug that makes the arrows and their textures like smoke or fire look blue, not like in the photo with that beautiful design of fire, smoke from the impact, etc.

"I downloaded the movie file and copied it into the 'data' folder, but it seems like the Brand New Blood mod isn’t working properly. It looks almost identical to the vanilla version. I only see a bit of blood on the ground occasionally—really, very occasionally. Everything else feels the same as vanilla. Is this intended? Also, the file from the link shows as a .pack file—am I missing something?"

@War&History go mod discord, you'll find a direct link there
