Description
DIFFICULTY INDICATORS
This mod adds tooltip icons to the locations added by my mods so that when you mouse over them on the map, you are able to view the general difficulty of the combat in that location. These icons are only visible when using the map, much like a port's offerings are. This will only take effect for new saves.

  • 1 Skull: You have a 5 person landing party and everyone has a weapon.
  • 2 Skulls: You can handle a tier 2 Monster Den.
  • 3 Skulls: You can clear Ahlvarza's dungeon without much difficulty.
  • 4 Skulls: You have beaten the sword dojo and the main storyline.
  • 5 Skulls: You have completed the post-game dungeon.

Please note that relative difficulty is subjective. The skull rating is a rough estimate.

Mod Load Order:
Place this below any of my mods that add combat locations in your mod load order. If you're not sure, just throw it at the bottom. It's not going to interfere with the other mod I recommend placing at the bottom: Elite Passives.

Base Game Locations:
I don't have any plans to expand this mod to include base game locations. Why? Although I have tried to emulate the base game style as best I can, there is a benefit in players being able to distinguish modded content from vanilla. These skulls can help fulfill that purpose.

Thank you, TomMakesPodcasts! You can find me on the Horizon’s Gate discord and PM me there if you’d like to discuss this further.

I love your stuff my friend. I'd like to make pixel art for you, can we collaborate?

Not to my knowledge, Devi. There might be a way to force the overworld zone to refresh, but that might cause all sorts of problems... if it's even possible.

I wish I had a better answer for you, but it's outside my expertise.

is there really no way to add this into ongoing game? with reload command like in these generated dungeons? i would love to see what content is modded or vanilla

Okay thanks for the reply Prominence!

Thanks, Welk. Keep in mind that I currently don't place the difficulty icons on areas without combat, so not all of my locations are marked.

@ Prominence

Thank you for this!
Now I can finally distinguish which is a modded or a base vanilla location!
