Description
Vanilla game asks for Scrap Metal in a few recipes. You cannot really "craft" it, only find it via disassembly.

This mod allows you to:
- Convert Scrap Metal to Sheet Metal Scrap and back
- Smelt Sheet Metal Scrap/Scrap Metal in furnaces.
- Create Sheet Metal Scrap from a variety of metal materials (iron ingot, pipe, bar etc).

does this mod let me take cans/soda cans and break them down to scrap metal?

Looked through vanilla recipes and there's already scrap metal - > iron chunk smelting, you might want to delete your smelt recipe as it pretty much copies it, while breaking balance (your is 1 scrap -> 1 chunk versus vanila 2->1)

Also if you mind please look it up in your game, it's the Smelt Small Items in Furnaces, for whatever reason in code it should take 6 items but ingame it's 2. No idea if it's intended or some mod I'm using overwrites it

Done.

You can work around it by smashing it to sheet first already, but I agree, it should be an easy fix.

Please add base scrap metal to smelting recipe, no reason to limit it to sheets realisticaly.

Yes, all my recipes have unique names, so there will be no conflict

Update 1.1

Added recipes to convert Scrap Metal to Sheet Metal Scrap and back, since both items are otherwise pretty identical, but exist in different recipes.
This will allow crafting to be more flexible while maintaining borders of reason.
