1937 Mercedes-Benz W125

Description
1937 GP Mercedes silver arrow

After disappointing 1936 W25K season. Much improved W125 design was introduced for 1937 to win against Auto-Union cars, which it did.

With 750kg limit formula this car achieved over 600hp and over 900Nm of torque. That allowed top speed of about 320km/h, rarely allowed to put throttle in full and didn't allow for tires to survive for long and resulted in very rapid fuel consumption.

In race trim with all fluids except fuel, driver and wheels on the car still weights under a tone. Modest tire grip and no downforce these days - instead some aero lift. The only downforce this car gets is from fuel load, of which there can be added up to 400l iters. In this simulation w125 handles best with around 100-200liters.

Upgrades allows two different dimensions rear tires, and three engine options.

Few tips:
1.To control traction don't use too much throttle :D Also learn to alternate throttle (ancient TC), this car is great excercise for throttle control. Which is not to be used 100% very often.
2. Aim for understeer. And neutral steer. Gentle oversteer is good, big powerslides are also doable, but there is no use of them, apart if you want to end tires faster.
3. Be calm. This car is faster when you don't rush. Use slow in and slow out technique, then rocket mode when turn is almost complete.
4. Start very slow with it, and gradually increase the speed. It is not a difficult car as long as you are able to take right amount of speed and have patience with throttle.
5. Start braking early.
6. Longest final gear setting is usually best option.
7. More fuel load, more traction (lots of it compresses soft springs, but car still handles well).

I hope you will have fun, good luck and start slow.

Welcome :) Yes I think it is pretty difficult, mostly because need to be very careful with throttle. But once that is taken care of it becomes quite easy to drive reliably and consistently. Till tires wear out and fuel tank goes light. Besides throttlle weak brakes also is difficult, but only till you get used to braking distances. With this car you always have to drive slow at first and only increase speed gradually. Then it is super enjoyable.

Very good car because very good physics.

Because it has several very particular features, it is exciting to drive.
It probably takes a lot of time to master it perfectly.

Thanks Mantasisg

Ah, the problem of view angles! You're not the only modder with this problem. Good luck with the rest.

A little issue regarding the cameras. Cockpit camera needs to be pulled back a lot, and other cameras needs reconfiguring.

Thanks, VInce. We will see. I have my eyes drifting along few other cars now. I want do do at least few more. But also have to show some love and update already released cars. Will get it steadily.
