Mehland

Description
🏕️ Its a land, and its Meh
Welcome to Mehland, a picturesque Scandinavian Land, nestled along the north sea coast. A place of an everlong coastline, mountainous terrains, long fields of gold and rivers of green.

From the idiots who brought you Sehreno. Mehland is the result of a 2 year long journey, where through relentless experimentation we improved our craft to heights we couldn't have imagined when we first began. And now we give back the fruits of this journey to the community that we've enjoyed being a part of for more than a decade now.

You can't have a terrain without laughing at the pain of making it
  • In its development time Mehland received 3 major overhauls.
  • Making a terrain comes with a large serving of self doubt.
  • If you aren't crying yourself to sleep at night, are you even making a map?
  • We used to track how much coffee we drank while making mehland, we stopped when our GPs became concerned.

📍 In its 400 square kilometers, Mehland features
  • 7 Cities and many towns dotted around a sprawling road network.
  • 3 Airfields with one being a major passenger and cargo hub.
  • Lush beech and spruce forests.
  • Rolling fields of grass and wheat.
  • Tall hills and rivers that snake their way through the landscape.
  • Several Military Installations dotted across the land.
  • Major Industrial Hubs and Mining Operations.

🏵️ We stand on the shoulders of giants, without them Mehland would've been even more meh
  • HorribleGoat: When it comes to making stuff for arma, do whatever this person tells you, we didn't, and suffered greatly for it.
  • Alwarren: Actually hate this person for getting us into making objects, plenty of arma objects would not exist without them, including custom objects of Mehland.
  • Ice: Another veteran of the community and someone with much more patience than us when it comes to helping idiots like us.
  • Sams: Without Deformer, this map wouldn't have become what it was. We broke it more than once, but I(Rupert) love it dearly.
  • Adanteh & Pennysworth: Without their tools we'd have lost it long ago.
  • Snakeman & Jakerod & Blud: For their excellent guides on Terrain Making.

💝 Enjoyed what we made and you'd like to donate?
We're grateful that you enjoyed the terrain enough to consider donating to us, we make terrains purely out of passion. Instead, please donate to a charity of your choice in our names and let us know.
Ken the Nugget and Rupert the Potato

📜 Want to find out all the ways people messed things up before you even got here?

Mehland, the land of ironic independence, broke away from Norway in 1908, just three years after Norway ditched Sweden. Initially, this tiny nation floundered during the great recession, but soon hit the jackpot with farming and massive mineral deposits.

During WWII, Mehland became an involuntary host of Germans until the war ended. Post-war, they bounced back thanks to American dollars from the Marshall Plan, and embarked on an ambitious canal project connecting Halv Sjøen to the sea. Unfortunately, this bright idea turned Halv Sjøen's freshwater ecosystem into an ecological horror show.

Fast forward to 1986, and Mehland spiced things up with a civil war between those who fancied staying Mehlandian and those who preferred Norwegian rule. NATO and the Soviet Union threw in some funds before losing interest. Peace returned, but the government maintains a sizable military just in case.

Today, Mehland is all about connectivity with the Mehland Road Initiative, creating highways, bridges, ports, and tunnels since 2003. But as global tensions rise, the world eyes Mehland's rich minerals and strategic position, making Mehland a tiny country with a big target on its back.

i just can talk for exilemod, but i also using roaming ai vehicles on this map and it work really good so far i have seen it
but not sure if antistasi has different pathfinding than exiel ai scripts

Has anyone tried using this map with anistasi? Do the bridges break the AI? I've had that issue on Golf Coast where crossing bridges would absolutely break the AI's pathfinding and result in them either going around in circles or just stopping in place. Made the map unplayable in the late game

When ever they make a new map, whether it be here on A3 or when the Eden editor comes to Reforger, god it will be great..

So whilst playing Antistasi on this map with some friends one of them mentioned, with the sheer contempt for Sweden on display here, that the devs have to be either Norwegian or Danish.

I see one of you two is Norwegian (confirmation of this hypothesis), but Nugget Roadblock, I'm curious, does this hypothesis fit for you too or not?

The best map I've played on Arma by far. The size, variation, and the scenery all make it perfect for Antistasi. Incredible work.

Alright, thanks for quick reply!

@DMZ, as it stands the terrain is licensed under APL-ND, so that would be a no.

Dear guys,

Is it allowed to pack this mod with a bunch of other mods into a steam-hosted compound pack to avoid a modpack with 80+ mods in launcher? The compound mod is for use for one unit and isn't usable by anyone outside the unit.

Apparently new people get scared if you have many mods in launcher, even if they are small.

"Hey do you want to make a map that competes with professional, official maps?"
"Sure let's put 2 years and countless hours of effort and passion into it"

maybe something for bug report channel but i guess its more like a feature of this map and will not be changed by the developer
