Description
A total overhaul for Kenshi's biomes.
This mod makes Kenshi more diverse in it's geographic features and climates, and more similar in aesthetics to the rural parts of California.

LOAD FIRST, OR CLOSE TO FIRST IN YOUR LOAD ORDER!
This mod WILL overwrite SEVERAL parts of the map, so mods adding or changing towns or anything relating to "adding things to the ingame map" will need to be loaded AFTER this mod.

This mod changes biomes that are right next to each other to be less contrasting, instead shifting more easily into their respective climate.

• Skinner's Roam, Okran's Gulf, and Dreg have been changed to match the climate of a steppes biome, due to their proximity to Vain and Okran's Pride.
• The Hook, Shun, and Spider Plains are all now a marsh biome, due to their proximity to the Swamp.
• The Border Zone and Stenn Desert now match California's more mountainous areas, and are less arid in nature.
• The Pits, Pits East, The Crags, and Stobe's Garden all have fertility, and are more of a savanna type of biome.
• Vain has been made slightly less red. The river is still red and acid, however, so don't get your hopes up.
• Sinkuun, Bast, and Skimsands now have more desert foliage and are, overall, less jarring in terms of their land textures. The deserts next to them are otherwise unchanged.
• Purple Sands and Berserker Country have been turned into forests to match their geographic location, given that they're right between the Cannibal PLAINS, Shrieking FOREST, and Leviathan COAST.
• Dreg, my beloved biome, has had a full makeover and is now, perhaps, the most beautiful and varied area in Kenshi. A perfect fit for Cowboys In Dreg.
• Acidic rain is, overall, less common. This opens up more land, like the coasts, to being much more inhabitable.
• Many of the coasts have had their fertility switched to being more green.

As of late 2024, this mod is no longer being updated due to work on California Climate 2 (which is currently experiencing developmental issues at the moment)

Wonderful, now my California simulator can look like California, too!

Looks pretty cool, I'll need to try it out with the various mods I use in the " Roleplay " collection, but I like the idea overall.

Good job bro :2017stickycrab:

An import would be required to remove the buildings if they're already spawned in.

The issue should be resolved.

Good to know. I do like how the changes to the zones listed feel transformative without being too different from vanilla to come across as weird (Except maybe there being rain in the Bonefields but I can get used to that in time).

Keep up the good work.

That HAS been an issue with mods like this. Other mods can unintentionally crossover and need removal.

Interesting. I'll need to patch that out, then.

Is there anything special about the town ruin in Dreg? I see a couple squads roaming around inside of it (using UWE), but it doesn't appear on the map as a landmark.

If you spot any changes you believe should be made, feel free to comment and I'll get back to you on them.
