Fred's Night Vision Goggles

Description
Included Items
The mod adds the following items to the game:
  • AN/PVS-7
  • AN/PVS-14
  • AN/PVS-15
  • GPNVG-18
  • Rhino Mount
  • Night Vision Head Mount

Known Issues
  • Models don't appear correctly when placed on the ground

Usage
The mod introduces a 'Night Vision Head Mount' item that serves as the primary attachment point for other items. This item occupies its own slot and can be worn under under other items such as gas masks, motorcycle helmets, hats from other mods and so on. The 'Rhino Mount' item can be attached to the mount by itself or can be combined with any of the goggles in their "item" form (goggles in the 'Electronics' category) to create the attachable version (goggles in the 'Accessory' category)

When the goggles have been combined with the Rhino Mount and attached to the Night Vision Head Mount, they can now be toggled on/off using the 'Toggle NVG' ([N] by default) hotkey given they have enough battery. They can be raised and lowered using the context menu or the 'Flip NVG' hotkey (unbound by default). Both of these keys can be changed in the in-game settings under 'Options' > 'key bindings' > 'Night Vision Goggles'.

All goggles have identical functionality and differs only in appearance.

Sandbox options
The sandbox options allows you to adjust the spawn chances for each of the items introduced along with the battery lifetime. These options can be found under 'Night Vision Goggles' on the 'Sandbox options' page when creating a new game. If you do not wish to use one of the goggles, you can effectively disable them by setting their spawn rate to 0.

Where to find them
All items introduced can be found in military containers and army stores. The goggles always contains a battery with between 30%, and 100% charge. All goggles have 3% spawn chance and the Night Vision Head Mount and Rhino Mount have 7% spawn chance.

Dependencies
None!

Does it work in multiplayer?
Yes! (B41)

It looks too bright because it was used inside a dark building. Can't I adjust the brightness?

What's the diffrence between AN/PVS-7 AN/PVS-14 AN/PVS-15 GPNVG-18?

Sandbox controls dont seem to affect spawnrates. Otherwise its a great mod

In regards to @Steve10393's comment;

irl NVGs have a low battery indicator, usually in the style of a blinking battery icon with no bars in it, kind of like an old camcorder. This might be a cool project to add in, make it more lore friendly, and give us a QoL improvement.

Another thing to consider is the loss of peripheral vision with all but the GPNVGs.. Maybe add a sight loss of varying % that can be adjusted in settings?

dunno if its because im on debug mode when i tried it but whenever i turn on my nightvision it also turns on the no clip cheat and invisible to i think

Desperately need a battery level indicator on hover over - currently have to eject battery to see level which is major pain in the butt - has to be done constantly to assure it doesn't go out in the middle of a firefight inside a basement or large building that has no lights inside

Getting the same error as @Itsuk1_1

LuaManager.getFunctionObject> no such function "FNVG_OnNightVisionGogglesCreate"

Same error also occurs on seemingly unrelated actions, like smoking a cig
Itsuk1_1 May 25 @ 9:00am
me too encountered the error problem, in the log it display as ERROR: General , 1748187607057> 709,592,918> LuaManager.getFunctionObject> no such function "FNVG_OnNightVisionGogglesCreate"
when i toggle nvg it did not work while showed a little error down bottom 1652. Likley conflict with other mods but struggling to find what caused it...
