Description
The CHAMP ( Cryohydraulic-Assisted Mining platform ) is a Core3 Warp-Miner for REFORGED EDEN 2.

The Champ is a marriage of style, aesthetics and tried and true small-dimenional-miner capabilities. The CHAMP replaces "The Omni" as my 4-Bit Jump-miner in the Reforged Eden 2 configuration. This ship is ironically, smaller dimensionally than the 1.1 Omni, and mines with even more freedom of movement and lift capacity than it's predecessor.

The CHAMP is a stellar underground tunneler and miner, twisting and moving freely underground for easy and painless mining. This is a High-G small vessel with lightning speed and turning, for carrying heavy Ore loads In and out of atmosphere.

The CHAMP comes standard with Dual-Minigun cannons, for quick destruction of drones that have found themselves in your way, and the platform is also SHIELD READY, with an open upgrade slot for both your shield and more. Simply replace 1 Gatling cannon with your shield when you've constructed it, and the ship is still CPU compliant as a Core3.

CHAMP is an all-purpose Jump miner, and includes production via your own SV constructor, to lighten your load by processing ore to ingot, and to produce essential ammunition and parts as required. This is very much a ship which must be used and flown to be appreciated. It flies like a fighter jet, mines with ease, carries massive ore loads, and can aptly defend itself from early game threats. All of that while being a visually stunning and a fun-to-look-at creation. Nothing was held back in the making of this ship, in addition to being a purist performance-vehicle, you have multi-LCD displays and animated flame and steam effects across the airframe.

The Champ is also an Ideal platform for conversion to Shielded-combat Mech, Salvage Vehicle, and also converts directly into a super-efficient and inexpensive 4-Bit LASER MINER. It will accommodate even more laser drills if desired, but is incredibly CPU efficient with just 4, tunnels beautifully, and can fill the role of a tunneling POI-Attack vehicle.

Enhance yourself today, and step into the CHAMP suit.

6 lasers, All plasma thrust, Adv +4 +1 shields for 12.8k, and it runs fine with 2 advanced and 1 regular generator. Might be able to do 8 lasers and drop the gen. I'm 6 over CPU with the trauma station.

How do you have the lasers set up with 6? I replaced the two outside tanks with lasers and threw two on top of the cockpit, but it's ugly with those two. I may strip those two and see how it tunnels.

Seems like some of these ships are meant to be tinkered with for long-term use. I gave it a midnight upgrade to collect gold. It works pretty good with core7, mostly plasma thrust, 8k shields, and 8 lasers. I usually make it underground with 80+ shield, but I like the buffer.

Not sure what SV to upgrade into after this, but this should last me until I'm swimming in quantums. I think I can keep it core7 with the rest of the thrusters upgraded.

Best SV miner I've seen for RE2 so far. Plenty of space for ores and engines that are able to transport it.The AoE radius of the drills is much bigger than in RE1. This ship makes use of this fact and optimized the space between the drills for a much more efficient drill pattern. Dispite the size it turns like a charm inside of the digged holes!

The only thing ... it is unshielded and I found also the two manual guns not very helpful. Because before you can aim on a thread you might already got shot down or at least missing some blocks. So I decided to remove the guns and slapped a turret on top and a small shield between the legs. Now it works perfect at 97% CPU. Thank you and big thumps up!! :steammocking:

I thought that might be what's needed, but I wasn't sure if I was just missing something. Thanks for confirming! :)

Any reason why you didn't remove the warp? I use this w/ 6 drills mid-game game, requires no cpu upgrades, just pull out the warp and the weapons. Good for mining gold and Carbon, but I always set my CV down on planet then un-dock it.

This looks pretty nice as an upgrade for the Omni. I was looking at this in creative, trying to see how to convert it to a 4 bit laser miner with shields. I removed one of the gats, added the lowest tier shield gen, and replaced the four drills with laser drills, and it's about 1k over CPU. Is there a spot available to put an improved CPU extender?

It is made specifically for RE2, and upgrades into a Laser miner.

This looks like a cool early game miner, I am always on the hunt for a miner that won't get stuck in holes. Will it be RE2 Compatible.

My bad even I forget the numbers sometimes. Yeah the Boost is like a 20% speed enhancer above whatever the max speed is. It's useful for getting places quicker but its VERY useful for escaping enemies and for maneuvering aggressively in combat. For this ship in particular it is good for escaping enemy CVs or drones you dont want to engage with, doubly useful because this is a miner, and with enough ore cargo it can dip below max speeds, which is a death sentence if you encounter something hostile, Boosting can help you achieve max speeds to escape even when you are overloaded.

Ah ok, thank you for clarifying. I wasn't sure originally if it was space speed because it reads as 159m/s in space when boosting.
