Having played some older COD campaigns I also like that you seem to have taken some cues from WaW when it comes to starting weapons. A primary combat weapon, like the assault rifle, and a power weapon, like a flamethrower, dramatically changes how a lot of the early combat encounters in a mission play. It becomes less a matter of finding and shepherding a power weapon's ammo through the level for when you need it, and more a matter of just going nuts with the new power weapons against the numerous hordes of enemies you encounter. I've got a lot of trigger time in CE, and this is probably the most unique way I've seen someone rebalance the campaign without adding much in the way of new models.
Just have a few main gripes:
- The Kestrel is just bad, its too fast for strafing, cannot hover, and its main gun has no range.
- The sniper feels rather useless given how many enemies can there can be at once, especially with its slow reload and low magazine capacity having been unchanged.
- The minigun doesn't really have a use, its about equal to the ar and smg, but rarely has ammo pickups, it really should feel more like a rare power weapon.
- Too many camo/invis enemies really ruin the special-ness of them, and get annoying quick, especially when they, more often than not, run in with the non camoed enemies.
- The Maw/ POA reactor fight, is cool but is also annoying to fight through.
