I think I know which bug you're referencing. I may take a look at it someday but it's a bit low priority for me because I have so many modding plans in Project Zomboid, but so little time.
In fact, this problem can be avoided by mod authors, as long as they distribute these excessive options under different option headings, just as the original game separated the zombies, supplies, and player character Settings. But it would be great if you had the time and ability to solve it.
When starting a new game, if you select Custom sandbox. There is a sandbox option after selecting the place of birth. Many mods have a long list of options,(such as More Traits,Evolving Traits World) The options at the bottom of the long list will only display the description normally, and the text box used to change the data will overlap somewhere.
