Description
MI2N Altéo Middle Carriage

The MI2N (Matériel d'Interconnexion à 2 Niveaux) is a French double decker commuter train built by a consortium of Alstom and Bombardier, for the RER A line of the Paris region, a hybrid between a suburban commuter and rapid transit. A total of 43 trainsets were built, for 215 total cars. The RER A line being the busiest rail line outside of Asia, with more than one million passengers per day, single decker trains were becoming an issue due to capacity, being only able to carry around 1600 passengers in double unit. With the construction of the RER E line being built by the SNCF, the RATP, the main RER A operator, and the SNCF decided in a joint venture, which resulted in the MI2N Eole, Class Z22500, and the MI2N Altéo, Class Z1500. These new double decker trains offered a capacity of more than 2300 passengers per double trainset, and with the SACEM system, implemented in the 80s, and Automatic Pilotage, put in place in 2017, it brings the frequency to an average of 28 trains per hour in peak hours. Compared to every other double decker in the world, it has 3 doors per side, to decrease time spent in stations and make for faster loading and unloading times, especially crucial for the high density of that lines. This trainset was so efficient and popular that the RATP ordered a modernized version of it, the MI09, which was built in 140 total trainsets.

How to assemble the train:
A trainset is composed of 5 cars in a T+M+M+M+T formation. Simply spawn each part as they are, except for the last trailer car, which you just need to rotate 180 degrees. Then simply push the trainsets until they connect. On the RER A, they are almost always in double units. It can be done here, but it will be very laggy.

How to drive the train:
Start-up is easy. Head to the front cabin, and enter from the doors on the side, or from the inside. Cabin layout is simple:
In front of the seat, you have the main pedestral. On the top, you will have your power controls, Emergency brakes, Neutral, and Reverse. The train is equipped with a traction manipulator, which combines throttle and brakes, and which can be controlled via the arrow buttons on the right of the pedestral. On the bottom side of the latter, you have the Lead switch, to assert your cabin as the lead train, and the pantographe switch, which brings up the pantograph and supplies energy to the train. On the opposite side, there is the door controls, with a button to open them, and a switch to select which doors to open. Above them are the indicator lights, which tell you if any doors are open or not.

On the left side of the pedestral, there is the horn button, then the light control panel, with interior, exterior, and cabin lighting, as well as displays (which do not work, as they should display camera from stations). Above it, is the mission number selector, and next to it is the automatic parking brakes appliance, as well as passenger emergency brakes control.

On the right side, there is the Stormworks exclusive track switcher button, and the brake pressure indicators.

To start moving, turn the batteries on, and turn on the cabin lead as well as pantograph. Turn on your lights, as well as automatic parking brakes. You are now ready to move.

Interior design features 8 sets of stairs per wagon, to go to the upper or lower floors. It has a white and salmon-pink interior, with a rail diagram above the doors, as well as emergency levers. Seat disposition is 3-1, 2:1, 2:2, 2:2, 2:1, 3-1, allowing for adequate seating space and good standing space. Door closing is announced via audible and visible cues. Intercarriage passage is not possible.
