This is great, all I'd add is a hints and tips guide for new players who don't know what to build (basically telling them the AI loadout)

guns wont shoot if you get debuffed with a magazine fire or a reactor failure, bring damage control teams to repair these issues faster

Interesting, but playing skirmish with the AI on custom maps doesnt work well. AI starts shooting before the match starts, and due to the fact that it takes a bit to get ships all prepped, I usually lose the game before it starts.
