Description

At the beginning of civilization, Elves and Humans came to this world through a portal from another realm. Since then, countless Elf and Human empires have risen and fallen, now lost to time. Elves have faded to the edges of the world and memory. You're the new Elf Lord and your goal is to restore the greatness of the Elves. What will this new Elven people be like and how will they get along with Humans?

Those answers are for you to decide!

You begin your adventure with the visit of an archaeologist to your realm. She claims to have found ruins of the mythical Elven people from the story books and needs your help to fund an expedition to uncover the secrets there.

This unlocks the new Activity type, Expedition. Upon traveling to these elf ruins you may encounter trials, traps, and treasures. On your first visit you make a major discovery and are transformed into an Elf! You learn you are to be the new "Realm Lord" of Earth and are therefore the new official leader of the Elven peoples.

Elves are marked by a trait. This trait gives them pointy ears, longer life, and an ageless appearance.

However not all elves are equal and there are tiers to Elfhood. Elves can further evolve their elf traits through a process known as Ascension. Basic elves are only slightly more powerful then humans but as you reach the later tiers you essentially become a God.

There are two ways to Ascend

Genetic Lottery: If two parents of similar Elf Tier procreate, there is a small chance their offspring will be of a higher elf tier. This is why Elven cultures are usually so obsessed with bloodlines.

Ascension Ritual: A simple Decision that allows a player to evolve their elf trait. Still working on how I want this to work but for now it simply costs a massive amount of Piety.

There are two ways to forge the culture of the Elves to your liking. The first is through re-discovering ancient Elven traditions that have been lost to time. As you do more Expeditions you may encounter trials and If you pass them you may be given a special event where you may pick a new culture tradition from a random selection.

Will you lead the new Elves of this world to be a harmonious people focused on bringing enlightenment and forging friendships with the Humans OR Will they be a primal tribe of cannibal overlords who enslave the Humans....?

THE CHOICE IS YOURS REALM LORD!

Blessings are the other type of tradition you may incorporate into your culture.

Blessings are gifts bestowed upon your people by the Divine Spark, a god like entity of the universe. They can potentially be more powerful but may have... odd effects. Some of these you may not find strictly beneficial. For now they can be acquired by completing a ritual decision but that may change around in future updates.

The Aeluran Weavers are the historical facilitators of the Elven religion. Their direct inspirations are the "Aes Sedai" from Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time Series and the "Bene Gesserit" from Frank Herbert's Dune. They are know as the Red Witches to the common folk.

They are an all female order and their only goal is to ensure the prosperity of elves by putting worthy and capable leaders into power. It is customary for an Elf ruler to allow the Aeluran Sisters some power over the management of his or her realm. If you do accept them your Court Chaplin will be replaced with a new more power "Aeluran Advisor". The Advisor is second in command in your realm and answers only to you. They offer more powerful versions of all the traditional Court Priest tasks.

They are obsessed with the breeding of nobles and forging of powerful bloodlines. When you first start a new game other Elves will be relatively rare in this world and so finding suitable mates will be difficult. This is where the order steps in. When it is the appropriate time for you or your heir to find a spouse it is customary to allow the Aeluran Sisters to help in the search.

Spread out in the distant corners of the world are the descendants of once great and powerful Elf Dynasties. Either through Aeluran Matchmaking or by just hunting them down the old fashioned way, you can try to breed their unique genetic traits into your own bloodline. Aside from stat bonuses most of these bloodline traits also change your ruler portraits; Like giant size for the Daelurins or purple eyes for the Serelions.

The inspiration for this mod came from one of my favorites "Pantheon Of The Gods". The Elf Ears asset I used is straight from there. For a while it seemed that Pantheon Of The Gods would no longer be supported going forward but recently the creator announced he would resume development so I do encourage you all to visit that discord and help the development along!

@Undercover, the latest patch should fix the vassals becoming independent issue. If your still seeing it, unsubscribe and then resubscribe to the mod

regarding the last paragraph: reforming the faith seems to be fixing it for some reason

@Eastpointed "I dont think the Aeluran Artillery truly got nerfed? All that really changed about them is their stack size cap, in total an Aeluran ruler can recruit more magi as the unit size went from 1 => 25":
befor the update i was able to siege down lv 3 and 4 forts in like ~12-20 days (with a full stack of artilery mages) now it takes 1-2 month

also i just wanna double check if it isnt something coming from the game itself:

i continued my save (with the update was like 2 weeks since i last played) and suddently vassals just keep randomly leaving my realm - i can invite them back but sometimes they break free after like 5 months again, no event, no faction, no war, nothing they are even same religion and culture. im the Aelurian High Matriarch, got an empire were they are all de jure of and even reformed the state to administrative.
but for all it is worth it seems i have to restart the 3rd time in one month because something is glitching....

@Dr. Nolegs: Its only applied to sisters sent from Deepwood, so if you had sisters in your own lands already they would be picked. Thats one way to game it. Could consider weighing torwards players culture too though.

@ConstantlyDisappointed: Double check that it actually loaded the most recent version for you (Beta_v1.6.5), should say in the launcher and also on the Elf Destiny DLC icon on the main menu. Never hurts to unsubscribe then re-subscribe the mod to make sure.

vassals are still going independent

-Advisor Now of Random Elf Culture

I tend to like advancing Base Elfen to it's Maximum Strength from the Expeditions, does this apply to all Advisors you get, or just the first one?

Since if it's all of them, that change kinda sucks especially if you go for a run where you give the Sisters a lot of power.

Could you weight it heavily towards the player culture if it has the elf heritage?

@Undercover Rolling nerfs on AI entrancement may be warranted lol

I dont think the Aeluran Artillery truly got nerfed? All that really changed about them is their stack size cap, in total an Aeluran ruler can recruit more magi as the unit size went from 1 => 25

If your talking about the special soldier reinforcement cap, the reinforcement total per shipment has been doubled. Overall you should have more magi
Undercover Aug 25 @ 3:13pm
also not a fan of the nerf to the Aelurean Magi Artillery - yes they were might be to strong befor, but now they are at the same level as normal siege weapons...
Undercover Aug 25 @ 3:03pm
ur sure the entrancement attempts got less?
just now in like 20 minutes of game time more vassals tried to entrance me than in the last 3 month (real time) combined
