NS ICNG / Alstom Coradia Stream

Beskrivelse
This mod adds the NS ICNG / Alstom Coradia Stream to your game.

Contained with this mod are real world variants, as well as a "concept" for those of you who would like to use the train but don't like or want the NS branding or colour scheme. So the white Concept variant is fully recolourable, so you can make it fit your transport company colour scheme using the colour swatches provided on the in-game vehicle details tab.

I've taken as much care as possible to make these train sets true to the real thing. Such details include the first and second class seating (red and blue) and exterior designations of first and second class. These are accurate as compared to the real train sets.

Each car has one window with a section that opens. These are accurate to the real train sets.

The floor height is accurate at 80cm and the coupler block is centered at 100cm above track. Both in accordance with real world Dutch railway standards.

The sound set contains real sounds from actual ICNG recordings.

The variants also have different consist numbers in reality. The standard 5-car ICNG sets are all numbered in the 3100 range, the 8-car sets in the 3200 range. The ICNG sets for Belgium (all in Flow livery) are numbered in the 3300 range, and the sets fresh out of the factory (Factory Black) carry 6000 numbers. This too is accurately reflected in-game as well.

And then there is the flashing light when the doors close, I've managed to get that working as well. So before the train departs you'll hear the door closing sound and the lights will flash red, before they shut.

The passenger capacity is half of what the real world capacity is, if you don't run any mods that alter passenger capacity. This means if you use a mod to double the numbers, you will get the real world capacities.

Some basic info:

NS ICNG / Alstom Coradia Stream

-Max speed 200km/h
-Power 2700kW (5-car) / 3600kW (8-car))
-Tractive 300kN (5-car) / 400kN (8-car)
-Capacity 128 (5-car) / 206 (8-car)
-Available in-game from 2023

The variants include:

-NS (classic) livery, 5-car and 8-car sets.
-NS Flow livery, 8-car set.
-Fyra livery, 8-car set.
-Concept livery, 5-car and 8-car set. This variant is recolourable.
-NS "Factory Black" livery, 5-car and 8-car set. This variant resembles the unpainted look, fresh out of the factory.
-NS "Factory Black" Unpowered version, with no door anim, capacity, labels, lights and bespoke sound set, intended for enacting the delivery of these trains.

I hope you enjoy the NS ICNG / Alstom Coradia Stream!

I would also like to acknowledge Ragno’s Coradia mod as the inspirator for this project. When I started my modding journey I extensively looked at other mods to learn from and reverse engineer, and of course Ragno’s Coradia mod was an obvious candidate.
During the modelling process I chose to match the dimensions of his model precisely, really in an effort to make a very close match for the Dutch version of the Coradia. For much of the straight parts of the carriage design I exactly or very closely matched Ragno’s Coradia mod which means those parts will be almost identical. This has caused quite the uproar unfortunately and has upset him as a result. I am truly sorry for that, this was not ever my intention, and so to rectify this I wish to acknowledge that fact here.
I will be making further alterations to my models in coming days and weeks to remove these similarities, but I will commit to keeping this acknowledgement up even after the alterations are made as I have learned a lot by studying that mod in general.

You can find Ragno’s beautiful mod here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2981046557

I would further like to thank the creator of the Siemens C2 metro mod, of which I studied the animation technique for my flashing door lights, and would also very much again like to thank the members of the TF modding community for all the help and support I received during the creation of this project.

I don't know when I might get back to modding. I have another project halfway done which I've had to abandon for months now as I've been busy with life/work. But if you share a reference I could keep it in the back of my mind for when I do. Are you talking about the Mat '54 livery?

That said, you're welcome to make a skin yourself if you can. I've put the original UV wire frames in the mod folder in case anyone wants to give it a go. I don't want to make any promises as it can be quite time intensive and I'm busy with other things that have to take priority.

Do you make extra livery's? For example one in the old NS green/red livery?

Continuing from the below:

If that doesn't do it for you, there are also more specific mods where you can change numbers more precisely, or you could change the capacity numbers of this mod to your liking from the downloaded .mdl file after you've subscribed to it.

Psyclone, fair question. There is logic behind that:

The passenger number in the game for vanilla vehicles is cut to 25% of reality. That's a game mechanics choice from the developer.
Half of real capacity, as with this mod, is already doubling that. If I would have gone with real numbers, this mod would stand out like crazy from the rest of the game's trains with regards to passenger capacity but also running costs.
Then, most people use a capacity doubling mod as well, myself included, so that the passenger numbers are accurate: half capacity x2 is real capacity. At the same time vanilla vehicles are also doubled in capacity.
Opting for half capacity seems to be the common theme in the modding community and I decided to simply go along with that so that my mod is comparable to other mods created by the modding community.

So, if you were to use this mod, and also make use of that passenger capacity doubling mod, you'd have accurate numbers.

Why would you half the passenger numbers...???

Elje0ett I have only been able to find a series of schematics of the single deck versions of the Coradia trains. The link below will immediately download a .pdf of them (won't open a page, but go straight into your downloads folder).
