Worldwide Multiplayer

Can't find the server your friend just made? You can't find a single non-password public server? In any case, Worldwide Multiplayer is the mod for you! It adds the ability to view every active public server so you aren't limited by your latency.

What does this mod do?

It adds an extra option to the latency drop-down menu that lets you see and play every online public server in the world.



This comes with a small latency penalty, of course. But it's not really an issue, since Software Inc syncs most stuff only once at the end of the month.


Notes
  • As with all other code mods, you have to turn this mod on in the Options>Mods menu and clicking on the checkbox next to the mod's name.

  • This mod only affects multiplayer, so leaving it on in singleplayer games will not affect anything.

  • In order to get this mod to work, you must be on the unstable branch for the Beta 1.7 multiplayer update.

@SkinnyOTB due to the nature of the games simulation we can't do this (at the moment). Modding multiplayer at this point is difficult, as there is no "easy access" as for the rest of the game. It would also need a change of "core elements" of the game, so you'd probably have a very different experience with the game otherwise. Nothing we really want to include, as we want to keep it as "vanilla" as possible.
We probably will take our time to enhance the experience in multiplayer, but "working on the same thing at the same time" is way over our capacities at the moment, sadly.

Nah that's a limitation with the game. Kenneth, the developer of Swinc, said that he didn't add it for syncing reasons. Since players start and finish the month at different times, one player might have finished, giving the other no chance to contribute.
