SOLVED. I finally got this workshop item to work. The basic problem I was having was the workshop route was corrupted in the Steam pre-stage area. Once I cleaned this out it now works. For anybody interested here is the details:
1. Unsubscribe to the North Fond du Lac to Oshkosh route.
2. Exit TSC and Steam.
3. Clean out Steam Pre-stage area (STEAM_TOP/steamapps/workshop/content/[number]/
4. Restart steam.
5. Goto TSC menu and select Verify Integrity of Game files. This will take a while and should re-download from Steam all needed workshop files to pre-stage area.
6. Restart TSC. This might take a while as it has to re sync with steam.
7. Subscribe to North Fond du Lac to Oshkosh route.
8. Subscribe to this scenario.

This is what got my version of this route now working. Hope this helps. Now I can play all of the other scenarios.
Thanks Mike for a great route and scenario.

A great run across the route with the GP9 - many thanks for taking the time to create and share with the community (route and scenario) - keep them coming (please)!

Worked fine for me.

Thanks JPS. I tried deleting the route in ..RailWorks\Content\Routes as well, but it redownloaded from Steam with the same test changes I had made. Perhaps a combination of deleting the route and the temp file did the trick? Anyway, I am glad you found a fix that worked for you.

That didn't work. But I redownloaded the route and unpacked it by hand, and that worked.

I think I have a fix. It seems that deleting the ..\RailWorks\Temp\BlueprintSchema.XML file fixes my reproduction of this issue.

Here are the steps I performed:
1. Close Train Simulator.
2. Go to the ..\RailWorks\Temp folder and delete the BlueprintSchema.XML file. (you can also just rename this file to keep a copy in case something goes wrong)
3. Restart Train Simulator.
4. Click the Drive button.
5. Click the Workshop tab.
6. Click the Subscribed button.
7. Wait until files are done downloading. If you do not see a progress bar for downloading, check the ..\RailWorks\Temp folder and wait for the BlueprintSchema.XML file to get recreated.
8. Start the scenario.
9. The error should be removed and the siding should now be named as "CNW Oshkosh North Branch Siding".

Please let me know whether these steps help.

Thanks,
Mike

I would also prefer to change it in the scenario rather than the route, in case of possible next scenarios would then have an issue. I am however not familiar with where to do that, basicly all I can do in the editor is swap out locomotives :steamsad:
Can you point me into the right direction? Or maybe just post the edited scenario, since I would expect everyone to have an issue?

Very odd indeed. I have two instances of TSC: one for creating the route and scenarios and another instance for testing. The second instance received the new marker name, which makes me suspect that Steam has the latest route markers. However, some route downloads appear to be updating properly and others are not. I'll dig a bit and see if I can find any similar occurrences of this type of issue.

BTW one other item. Looking at the route folder files on disk. The Tracks.bin file and all the bin files in the Track Tiles folder all have a modified date of 7/25 which I believe was your latest route update.

I went into the route editor and the branch name is CNW Oshkosh North Siding. Instead of changing it here I went into scenario editor and changed the destination to CNW Oshkosh North Siding and the scenario worked.
