Ganondorf

He was the leader of a band of thieves who invaded Hyrule in the hopes of establishing dominion over the Sacred Realm. He was known as a demon thief, an evil-magic wielder renowned for his ruthlessness, and now he's here, ready to dominate the world of Rivals of Aether!

Ganondorf brings some of his most iconic moves from his Smash incarnation but also a lot of original attacks from his appearences in the Zelda series!

Ganondorf comes equipped with a mighty Trident! With the Trident in hand, some of Ganondorf's moves gain power and range and some even change properties. Ganondorf can also deploy his Trident somewhere on the stage or deep into his opponent's skull!
While in the air, you can hold down the Jump button, doing so makes Ganondorf slowly float donwards, which is amazing for better spacing Ganondorf deadly aerials!

NSpecial - Trident Throw:
Just like in the classic Ganon Boss Fights, Ganondorf throws his Trident forward in a spinning motion, traveling back and forth and dealing multiple hits to anyone caught in it.
If you press NSpecial again during the move, Ganondorf commands the Trident to plunge downwards, hitting anyone or anything in its path!
While the Trident is deployed, you can use NSpecial to call the Trident back to you

FSpecial - Flame Choke:
The Smash Classic! Ganondorf dashes forward and grabs anyone in his path, he them lifts them up and attacks them with dark energy, putting them into a tech situation.
Using this move with the Trident equipped not only gives you additional range, but you can also Hold the Special Button during the Grab to get the Trident stuck in your opponent!
You can also perform a secondary attack if you grab someone with FSpecial while they have the Trident stuck to them, doing so you can again Hold down the Special Button to have Ganondorf kick them with an incredible amount of force!
In the air this move behaves like it does in Smash, plunging both Ganondorf and his opponent straight downwards (just keep in mind, Ganondorf always dies first during a Ganoncide)

DSpecial - Skyward Strike:
Ganondorf raises his trident and commands the sky itself to open up and shoot a lighting straight at him! This is a deadly move if you hit someone right at the tip of the Trident, but Ganondorf's body hitbox and the lighting itself are great tools on their own.
If you use this move while the Trident is deployed, the lighting will instead target the Trident itself rather than Ganondorf, use this to create a powerful hitbox anywhere on the stage!
If you hit an opponent with the lighting while they have a Trident stuck to them, the lighting will absorb the Trident and stun the opponent for a short amount of time!

USpecial - Dark Warp:
This is a simple recovery move, Ganondorf engulfs himself with dark energy and flies upwards, being vulnerable without a hitbox to protect him, you can even cancel this move earlier by pressing Shield.
Now when the Trident is deployed, by holding down the Special button, Ganondorf will instead home in to the Trident, which makes the move faster and gives it a hitbox as well! When Ganondorf reaches the trident he'll even cancel all of his lag.


DStrong - Ground Pound: The classic move from Ocarina of Time! This move doesn't change if you have the Trident equipped or not, but you can use it to quickly deploy your Trident, just hold Special during the attack!
Flame Choke Cancel: If you have your Trident somewhere on the stage, you can dash into it with FSpecial and hold down the button so Ganondorf instantly cancels out of his FSpecial Dash!
FStrong and BAir Tippers: With the Trident equipped, FStrong and BAir not only have additional range, but they're extra powerful at the very tip of the trident itself
Float Boost: If you cancel your momentum with the Trident with FSpecial or USpecial Hold, you can instantly hold down the Jump buttong, doing so makes Ganondorf insert all of his momentum into the Float itself!
