Dongfeng 4E diesel locomotive (later referred to as DF4E) is one of the diesel locomotive models used in Chinese railways. It is a dual engine, double coupled, 12 axle high-power mainline freight diesel locomotive developed by Sifang Locomotive and Rolling Stock Factory in 1994 to meet the needs of "heavy load and speed increase" in Chinese railways.
