Description
Changes default ambush success chances significantly based on terrain. Drops the default chance of success in open line of sight areas such as plains to 0% base - so it is incredibly hard to ambush an enemy in the open. However, ambushing an enemy in a forest, jungle or hills is increased, sometimes to over 100% base chance, meaning it is very difficult to defend against an ambush in these areas.

You can check your armies ambush chance by selecting the army then mousing over the terrain, note this is a base chance and is not showing the value after any modifiers have been added.

Be wary, this means sitting your own army in good terrain for ambushing means you may also get ambush attacked easier!

If youre planning on campaigning through areas that have high ambush chance, make sure you build armies to compensate - not a smart move to carry siege equipment or cavalry through a jungle, be a smart general.

Reduced based desert ambush chance from 60 to 20%, gave tomb kings 50% ambush success chance in home territory when in desert climate, and multiple buildings can increase it more, such as growth chain, defence chains, tomb scorpion chain and bone giant chain.

Have to also consider many races get considerable ambush boosts naturally, and many of the terrains youre discussing already have very high base rates of success, compared to desert terrain especially which really only helps tomb kings

I would stick to the factions natural habitat according to the map ie where they are most concentrated. Skaven/mountains or near ruins, Wood Elves forest etc... This will be painful though because it would have to be done on a per faction basis...The terrain that say....Katarin is familiar with will be much different than the terrain Baba Ostanyka uses.

Youre right, tomb kings should probably have more ambush chance in desert regions, ill add it, are there any others you feel that should have extra ambush chance in a specific terrain? I can add it in pretty easily, but only in friendly regions, and perhaps adjacent to friendly regions.

Hmm....Yeah, this concept doesnt really work in an extremely magic heavy scenario. And im sure its not based on the faction youre playing, otherwise tomb kings would always get a 100+ chance to ambush anywhere there is soft earth/sand.

thanks, it's all i need to know, i can use this mod with other mod that i add stalk stance to others factions and races (markus, oxyotl, skarsnik, ostankya and wood elves)
