Merrick's Madagascar

Adds Madagascar led by Ranavalona I.
She ruled Madagascar with an isolationist policy, attempting to stop the influence of european colonial powers on the culture of her people. Her rule is looked on as harsh and unforgiving, with forced labor laws and cruel trials. Despite her negative characterisation, she can be seen as a monarch focused on protecting her island from foreign powers during a period of the world where colonialism ran rampant.

Tanindrazana

• Cities receive an additional +3% Culture and +3% Food and generate an additional +3% Great Person Points for each Specialty District built there.
  
• Specialty Districts built on Hills grant +1 Great Person point of their type.

Andriana (Replaces Pikeman)

• Unlocked at Feudalism. Has 2 Build Charges and can repair and remove improvements, and clear features.
  
• Can be expended to Rush the Production of Specialty Districts and their first two tiers of buildings.
  
• Can construct the Rova improvement.
  
• +5 Combat Strength on the Home Continent, doubled when also in escort formation.

Rova (Unique Improvement)

• Unlocked at Feudalism. Provides Fort bonus. Must be built on Hills and not adjacent to another Rova.
  
• +1 Production from every 2 adjacent Farms and each adjacent Pasture.
  
• +1 of respective Yield from all adjacent Specialty Districts. (Also receives Culture from Government Plaza, Diplomatic Quarter, Preserve, and Entertainment districts and Production from Encampments)
  
• Tourism after Flight.

Fanompoana

• +1 Production, +1 Housing and -1 Amenity from each Specialty District.
  
• No Production penalty in Cities that are Displeased, Unhappy, in Unrest, or Revolting.
  
• Can construct the Miaramila unique unit at Military Science.

Miaramila (Replaces Line Infantry)

• +10 Strength fighting against Barbarian, City State, and Free City Units.

Isolated Sovereign

• Avoids most Alliances and foreign diplomacy, although welcomes Science and Trade.
  
• Dislikes Civilizations that settle too close, spread their religion to her cities, get involved with Diplomacy and City States, or develop high Tourism.
  
• Likes Civilizations who keep to themselves.
