Project Neutrolope

Description
A Neutrolope is like a Boomalope, but it produces Neutroamine instead of Chemfuel. It's blue due to having its Chemical Sacks filled with Neutroamine. The explosions are slightly bigger than Boomalopes'.

Safe to add or remove mid game.

Lore:

A large farming animal descendant from Boomalopes. Scienctists on Urbworlds riddled with drug addiction genetically modified a boomalope so that it could produce Neutroamine. This was needed feed the addictions of their citizens. They were successful, but soon after its creation, this geneticly modified version of Boomalopes were banned. Cross-Galactic law enforcement purged all Neutrolopes they could find, if any were left after their raids.This was due to how easy these animals made access to Neutroamine, a precursor to most drugs that could only be produced in a well established laboratory. If the captured animals were not killed,they were sold to the Imperial Pharmaceutical companies for a hefty sum. This obviously led to some specimens escaping into the wild, this happened more often on Rimworlds. Most of the time, the people who owned these illegal drug labs killed the Neutrolopes themselves. This was because of their extreme explosions when killed, they would use this animal's extreme explosiveness as an attempt at destroying evidence. Leading to Neutrolopes being associated with large chemical fires and hated by the general public. Since the collapse of the empire, Neutrolopes have been farmed freely on the Rim, fueling the needs of humble farmers trying to make a living all the way to Organ farmers looking for an escape from the horrors they partake in.

While contained within the chemical sacks, the neutroamine contains high amounts of neutrao-oxide(NU02). Upon being secreted from the udder however, this compound immediately breaks down and the oxygen is released into the atmosphere, while the neutroamine part binds to the pre existant neutroamine particles, similar to how soda fizzes off. This results in the final product having a much more washed out colour, compared to the liquid shining through the sacks on the animal's body.

Compatibility

It works with combat extended from what I've heard. But the armor values are a bit off, this shouldn't be an issue since they don't give a custom leather and are not trainable past basic level. Hunting them is not more difficult because of it. (Credit for this information to Monkeysnow who commented below.)

I am not aware of any incompatibilities. Regrowth CORE says it is not compatible with this mod, however, if used together it causes no problems.

Balance

This mod is vanilla friendly. I made it so that it gives eight Neutroamine every three days.They eat about the same as a Boomalope(four meals every three days, a boomalope eats three every three days). It means you get around 160 Neutroamine a year per Neutrolope. One or two should be enough to sustain drug production.
The value of 160 Neutroamine is 960 silver. For context, a Muffalo makes 1200 silver from its wool per year.
They have bigger explosions than normal Boomalopes(nine cells instead of seven)

Neutroamine is by no means difficult to get, this adds variety and an alternative form of getting it, without changing how much it costs or breaking the economy.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Its inspired by the OG Neutrolopes mod, but I remade it from the ground up because that mod hasn't been updated in a very long time.

Project Neutrolope Alternate Textures has been released!

Originally it was going to be a patch for the H.C Animal Reskins Collection. Sadly development and updates for the H.C Textures series has stopped. I got permission from HellCross to use their Boomalope textures as a base template for my Neutrolope textures. Seeing as development and updates for those mods have stopped, I am using these textures I made in a separate mod.

The reason an H.C Reskins patch was only available for such short time was due to a bug. The textures of this mod would spawn inbetween the H.C reskins.

Just updated it to 1.6, thank you for asking/reminding me. Not been playing too much of anything these past few months.

I will make sure it is still compatible with A Dog Said once that mod is updated to 1.6
Once Odyssey DLC releases I will make it so they can spawn in the new biomes.
