A GNSS tracker item for vechiles has been added, usable with both military GPS by menu
If one of these days someone has a story to tell related to the GNSS tracker, I would love to hear it ^^, have you managed to find your vehicle or find the camp of your enemies thanks to this module??

Now the mod is compatible with the Darker map mod, and works better with the Military Grid Refenrency System mod (if you don't have GPS turned on, grid information will not be displayed.)

If you want the same display as in the thumbnail image (GPS with dark renderingu), use the map modifier + Darker Map.

There is a known problem concerning the H800 GPS (exclusively this GPS because it is used in vehicles, in the glove box, etc.), the modifications are not properly saved in MP, (SP no problem), for the moment, if you want to save the H800, you will have to transfer it to your inventory then put it back wherever you want, this is provisional, I cannot find a good (optimized) solution.

Now there are GPS devices in Project Zomboid, different models are available and not all are equal, in terms of their quality, their precision and their options.

This mod can be used for a hardcore experience as well as for treasure hunting, everything is configurable in the sandbox options, I tried to meet several requirements, as best as possible, and I specify that the mod n it's not finished, I intend to add things, the Road map contains at least two important features, the tracker and the breakdown system on the duration of use but not only that, presets of waypoints concerning large cities for example, anyway... that's for later...

  • The K key on the keyboard will be the only keyboard shortcut for using GPS, if you have the "ModOption" mod, it can be changed for another.

    • Press the K key twice to take out/put away the GPS (whether it is in your inventory or on your belt).

    • Press the K key once to turn the GPS on/off (if it is in your hand, or in the case of a vehicle GPS, in a glove box).

    • Hold down the K key to turn on/off the GPS on your belt (you will not be able to leave it on if you do not hold down the K key).

  • If you do not see a GPS screen displayed, it is because no GPS is turned on, therefore none is consuming.

  • You will be able to recharge portable GPS devices with their cables found around the world, the action will be carried out on the cigarette lighter of a vehicle, on one of the two front seats, and of course, the vehicle must contain a charged battery, the ignition must be on or the wires made. Sandbox options are present to, for example, adjust GPS consumption.

  • To recharge a handheld GPS, keep the GPS and cable in your inventory, and access the context menu by right-clicking on the GPS icon in your inventory.

  • The GPS will not work below 0.5% battery in order to be able to recharge it, because if the battery is at 0%, the item no longer contains any battery.

  • On the other hand, there is a second type of GPS, a model designed for vehicles, to use this non-portable GPS, position it in the glove box accompanied by a GPS cable, and of course, the vehicle must contain a charged battery, the ignition must be turned on or the wires done.

  • You will have access to options by right clicking on the GPS screen, you will have the possibility to add waypoints either by clicking on the screen, or by the numeric keypad.

  • As a general rule, you will find a GPS in certain vehicles (almost never in ordinary vehicles but it is still possible), mainly in service vehicles, on service personnel, in military zones, and rarely in the global electronics, but you will be able to increase the appearance of GPS in the sandbox options.

  • A GNSS tracker can be found in the world, you can use this tracker by synchronizing it to your GPS, if it is compatible, to then hide it on a vehicle, behind a mechanical part, equipment will be necessary.
If you are the victim of a tracker on your vehicle, it may well be that your battery wears out abnormally following the use of the GNSS device (depending on the sandbox options, it is still possible that the tracker does not consume the battery).
Tracker function can be desactivated by sandbox options.

  • In the menu on the GPS screen, in debug or admin mode, you will have access to different tools concerning the mod's data management, GPS trackers, and the possibility of teleporting to positions.

Works for: MP / SP / Existing Backup / Safe Removal

/!\ Don't use my other mods: Just_RegionMap_GPSaddon / JustRegionMap_NoMarker / JustRegionMap_noHideUnvisitedArea /!\

Mod to modify the Cartography (If you want to put your GPS in dark mode, like the miniature, see with this mod!) :

Mod which adds the number of cells on the world map, I advise you to opt for the "digital numbering" sandbox option in order to correspond with the GPS :

Mod that darkens the world map (now compatible) (if you have a problem with the minimap and loading the darkening parameters on it, download the "Cartography modifier" mod, you will no longer need to open the map at least once to load the settings on the mini map)

Mod that adds the gps trait, you can start the game with a standard gps :

If you think this mod would be interesting for the community

oh :( so i guess i need to wait for B42 to be stable, as it won't be anytime soon unfortunately...
AuD  [author] May 25 @ 11:58am
I'm not coding anymore at the moment, I'm waiting for build 42 in PM, I'm like 200% or 0%, all or nothing, and I don't want to work for nothing, so many things to sort out for the b42^^
Greenjack May 25 @ 11:54am
Also another thing, like the guy that made the "Start with GPS" mod https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3020791459&searchtext=item+gps
I was thinking what about making a one thing in ur mod and so it could be good, since it just randomly pulls out from all the 5 devices, just to have a sandbox config to set which one to spawn with OR just leaving it random
Greenjack May 25 @ 11:47am
yeah he actually used the radar from the survival challenge, maybe it could be something already inside the DZ2012 with a sandbox option or a button to toggle ON/OFF or it could be a tuning with electrical skill high enough, actually it's always good to try give that skill a sense besides hotwiring xD
AuD  [author] May 25 @ 11:41am
maybe other device with possibility to activate on dz2012 in sandbox...
AuD  [author] May 25 @ 11:39am
very good !!
Greenjack May 25 @ 5:15am
oh so are you going to exclusive work on B42? Like are there any chances to maybe see this radar thing (like this mod RadarZ https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3436681654&searchtext=radar+z) implemented in B41?
Also i was thinking that this feature could be enabled/disabled with sandbox options, so ppl that don't want zed radar can play without like no problems
AuD  [author] May 21 @ 12:58pm
yes yes i see , maybe good, i think ^^ I will come back to improve my mods and make them compatible with the b42, so many things can change in the PZ code, while the mp comes out
Greenjack May 21 @ 12:00pm
thanks for the answer, anyway i checked "Radar" on workshop and there is only one actually, i need to test it but it should be a minimap thing that is always active like Erins
What i was thinking is that the GPS (at least the military one) could be perfect with this addon like a sound detecting movements or sound radar that gives you hints of zeds around or (implemented only in the DZ2012) a radar showing zeds nearby
My point is that having this infos is OP of course, BUT only when you have the DZ2012 and also since it can be damaged and break, i think it's balanced
AuD  [author] May 20 @ 11:31pm
Hi, I think this wouldn't be suitable for GPS, there are radar mods I'm sure ;)
