[RAF] De Havilland Comet DH.106 2R

Description
De Havilland Comet DH.106 2R - XM655

The De Havilland DH106 Comet was the world's first commercial jet airliner. Featuring four Rolls Royce Ghost engines cleanly integrated into the wing-root, a pressurised cabin and performance that surpassed its contemporaries, the Comet would initially see a successful career. A string of highly publicised disastrous crashes would lead to all Comets being withdrawn from service and grounded, with an extensive investigation being launched into the causes of these disasters.

After the conclusion of the investigation, De Havilland set about building an improved version of the first Comet, featuring improved range and performance through stronger Rolls Royce Avon engines, a slightly larger wing and higher fuel capacity. The hull was also lengthened to accommodate more passengers. Despite these improvements, all orders for the improved Comet 2 had been cancelled prior to its development in the wake of the 1954 investigation. All but four would eventually be allocated to 216 Squadron of the RAF Transport Command, where they would be designated Comet C2 and used in a variety of roles, ranging from charter flights, to troop transport, to VIP transport. Some would even be modified with specialised equipment to monitor Warsaw Pact signal traffic, carrying the designation 2R.

This particular aircraft is based on Comet 2R XM655 of Royal Air Force No.51 Squadron. Due to the lack of documentation and the fact that several relevant details may be classified to this day, the interior and functions of this aircraft are highly speculative. Accuracy is not guaranteed.

# Further Notes #
- This aircraft is, by default, flown from the co-pilot's position. A switch at the center of the instrument panel swaps control between the pilot and co-pilot position.
- This aircraft is capable of reaching the Arctic through careful fuel management and, should the weather be against, you, usage of the central fuel tank.
- Be careful when taking off. This aircraft is prone to tailstriking if you pull up too hard.
- The INS does not stop the aircraft from rolling. At least one pilot is to remain on station while flying.
- Disable INS before reaching exact waypoint coordinates. Failing to do so will result in the aircraft violently whirling itself around the exact point where the INS directs it to stay on that exact point. An auto-disable function is currently being developed.
- The lack of heating in the main cabin is intentional.

The airstairs are connected by a rope that attaches to the inside of the aircraft cabin. (See Picture #10.)
To disconnect it, you grab the rope by either end, then locate an inventory container to stow the rope in. The doors have an inventory built in next to the key (See Picture #7) for this purpose.

Maybe. Life has happened and my interests have shifted a bit. I may come back to Stormworks some time, but for now things are going to be taking a while.
