vorlon and shadows both have basically one weapon port, and though you can slot a few in that one spot (like 1 large, 2 medium firing from the same place) I've always been more in favor of instead keeping slots more limited and increasing rate of fire and power for those slots.
earth force for instance, has a lot of different ship designs and models and you could easily fill up all those new ship sizes with designs, but it's not like every empire is gonna be the same. and if they are then to me it's kind of boring. everyone just has access to the same things, no advantages or disadvantages.
i'd already been working on my own system in a larger mod. but interested to see what they do with them in this update.
likely i'll make these ships organic following the way they do it in this update.
and really I've been leaning in the opposite direction, to match ship sections with cannon weapons as closely as i can. for vorlon that would mean just a few forward facing energy weapons, but likely something like increased fire rate to compensate.
