Description
Check out lemonSurvival 2.0, an updated version of this gamemode, right here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3065745406

lemonSurvival is a custom gamemode I made to change some of the design choices I personally didn't like in the original Survival Mode. This mod tries to revamp some of these issues all while trying to still feel like the vanilla game mode.

Changelog:
-Made the start of the game slightly faster (no more putting fire out)
-Removed Mechanic Station and Dispenser Bot (Replaced with smaller POI)
-New item: Mobile Craftbot
-Crude Oil can now be mined from rocks and gotten from traders
-Most Items stack to 64
-Blocks stack to 512
-Refine Bot now outputs 3x blocks
-Manual refining times reduced to 1.5 seconds
-Scrap wheels have been replaced with normal wheels
-Soil can now be removed quicker
-All Craftbot times have now been reduced to 5 seconds
-Alternative Glue Recipes (3 corn or 3 glowpoop)
-Cheaper Scrap items recipes
-Adjusted couple more crafting recipes
-Added wedges recipe
-Added warehouse lights recipe
-Water recipe now gives out x5 water
-Cheaper Beacons
-Loot drops adjusted
-Consistent Haybot drops
-Chest space increases
-Totebot head recycle recipe
-Wood/Metal1 recycle recipes
-Dev mode/Cheat Commands (Host only)
-You can now sleep in beds to skip the night

If you try out the gamemode please let me know what you think of it and if you had any issues with it.

Here are the reasons for changes listed below (warning: contains personal opinions about survival mode):

Removal of Mechanic Station
From what I've seen and experienced, the Mechanic Station discourages the making of bases, especially in the early game. Due to it being a large cosy interior space and the space providing the Dispenser bot needed to progress the game every player always sets up and builds a base there.

The Dispenser bot located there also means you cannot progress the game without reaching it first. This makes players sprint to it as soon as they create a new game which makes starting new playthroughs boring and repetitive.

The POI was replaced with a much smaller gas station that still has a workbench and beds to sleep on to act as a checkpoint incase you die.

Mobile Craftbot
An early game item that allows you to craft items on the go. It is upgradable to include more recipes such as the recipe to craft a normal Craftbot.

This lets you explore much more easily in the early game as it lets you leave the crashed ship behind.

Reducing reliance on underwater stuff
I don't feel like the water in this game is quite ready yet. Axolot is planning on a water update in the far future after Chapter 2 so until then I have made some changes to make you swim less.

Glue -
2 new alternative recipes
-1 glue = 3 corn
-1 glue = 3 glowpoop

Crude Oil -
-Crude Oil can now be gotten from mining rocks
-Crude Oil can now be found in ruins
-Crude Oil can be bought at the farmers hideout

Craftbot times
Crafting times have been reduced to 5 seconds for all items.
This was changed because I think long crafting times add no challenge or anything interesting to the game other than to waste your time. This is also why manual refining time has been reduced.

Refinery Bot
The Refinery bot was upgraded to give out 3 times amount of blocks it gets given, this was added to try reduce the grind of the game a bit more as well as to balance it around the reduced manual refining time I have added.

Scrap wheels removed
Scrap wheels were replaced for normal wheels because those wheels just suck, it makes the car slower than sprinting. Normal wheels should allow you to make a functional vehicle to move around in early on.

Chest space increased
Amount of slots in chests were increased.

Small Chest
20 slots -> 30 slots

Big Chest
30 slots -> 60 slots

This is to make the big chest be bigger than the inventory and to make the smaller chest more useful early on.

Planned Features:
(things I have not added yet but I wanna add)

-Make getting the craftbot less confusing
-Spawn player in the middle of randomly generated tiles around the south west part of the map (no more generic starting area)
-Move Farmers Hideout further away (somewhere where the starting area is orginally)
-Mobile Craftbot rework, might make it so it has the full craftbot recipes but at the cost of only having one crafting slot (to make sure youre not tied down to one place on the map too early)
-Remove mechanic station entirely from the map
-Remove quest system entirely
-Late game Component Kit/Circuit boards at hideout (brocolli and pineapple)
-Component kits from either tape bots or warehouses
-Modded Craftbot recipe support (if i figure out how to actually implement it)
-Smaller beacons

Feel free to suggest your own ideas

@DarthTroop3r sorry its been a while since i worked on this mod so i might get things wrong

for manual refining, the variable for the the refine speed is inside of Scripts\game\harvestable\HarvestCore.lua.

then (this is the part im not sure if i remember correctly) go to Objects\Database\Shapeset\harvests.shapeset and change the HarvestCore.lua change the links to HarvestCore.lua to your $CONTENT_DATA

you can look at my other mod "Faster Refining Speed" which could make figuring it out easier

for the refine bot is really simple, inside of Refinery.lua i simply just did "recipe.quantity * 3" to just multiply the output by 3

I'm working on some changes for myself and I was wondering how you changed the manual refine time and how you changed the refine bot's output independently of manual refine output.

Please ignore my "Reboot" - Post. The issue was a too weak power supply for the graphics card. Problem was an ECO supply which was sufficient for normal use but gave up on graphics load resulting in a reboot. With a 1000W overkill power supply this problem is fixed.

Can you please set the Craftbot so that you can also craft mod items?

@knito what? i would understand if a bug crashed your game but i dont understand how it would crash your whole computer. maybe its the mods you loaded?
knito Nov 16, 2023 @ 11:10pm
Press "E" to respawn => Gives me a black screen and computer reboots. After reload there's still "E" to be pressed and then the computer reboots. Moddatabase and 2 other mods loaded.

Has all the simple game balance changes packs like fants are missing without anything crazey happening like never needing to build a car because you have cheap blimps. I like this alot.

@UAT64 you can change the stacksizes by going into the mods folder, then go to Objects/Database/Shapesets

if you click on one of the shapesets you will be able to find the stacksize variable on most items that you can change
