Specialized Ships 3.11

Beskrivelse
This simple mod adds a few new ship sections that allow total specialization of Cruiser and Battleship, and new specialization options for Titan.
  • Battleship now gets Carrier Bow, Fleet Core, and Hanger Stern to let it focus exclusively on strike craft.
  • Cruise now gets Volley Bow, Volley Core, and Missile Stern so it can focus entirely on explosives.
  • Titan gets Fleet Bow, Fleet Core, Carrier Stern, Salvo Bow, Salvo Core, and Volley Stern, letting it focus on strike craft or explosives.
  • Destroyer gets Guardian Bow, focusing entirely on point defense. Unlike the Picket Ship bow, this does not have a weird slot penalty.
  • Juggernaut can now focus exclusively on strike craft.
These use existing assets, so they should work with any ship appearance mods. I've respected weapon slot size equivalency rules on all of the options I've made here, which should keep things as fair as the game already isn't.

I'm aware there are some other mods that do things like this, but none were quite what I wanted and most haven't been updated in a long time.

Updated for 3.8, which seems to only have needed minor changes to the AI settings for the components.

The "More Ship Sections" mod works so...I'm not sure what the issue is.
DragoonBlade 16. juni 2022 kl. 22:53
It's pretty extensive. Does things like give gesaults ethics, overhall terraforming, expand and extend Arcologies, and a whole bunch of other stuff. It touches a huge amount of base game files for modification and synergizes with mods like Planetary Diversity and Gigistructural Engineering.

Can't check it now (at work), but can definitely check tomorrow. I'll just modify Stellaris Evolved ship files with your additions. It's possible It's another mod, but I don't think it's likely.

I've never heard of that mod previously so I looked it up. It describes itself as an overhaul. You'd pretty much have to replace the existing ship sizes for any ship sections mod to not work, so my guess is that Stellaris Evolved does some pretty extensive changes to ships, although the description page is very sparse, so I don't know.

Do these pop up after researching a particular tech? Cause I'm not getting it if so.

And if it's not a tech then your mod is definitely incompatible with Stellaris Evolved.

@DragoonBlade
This only adds new elements. Unless something else added stuff with an identical name, this would be compatible with anything.

@AngleWyrm
As I mentioned, I'm aware of many other mods for adding ship sections. I made this because it's exactly what I'm looking for and nothing else. Plenty of good options for everyone to choose from, and I should be able to keep this updated.

Nice. Check out More Ship Sections which does similar. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2322836135 It might offer some useful code insights or ideas.

Compatibility? What mods does this work/not work with?
