Report a translation problem
If we're lucky it'll just be a case of "WaterInfusionVisuals = 1 to WaterInfusionVisuals = 0" and stop the visual effect applying on the buff.
Armour appearance I think is modelled on a racial basis last I checked, which is tied to their models/race together so it'd probably require a full retexture project for that.
There are transmog mods I believe though, which could be used to be make your armour look like some of the later game stuff - might help the problem.
I can't quite remember feeling the need to use more than 2 really, but if people want something crazy it can probably be done at some point.
