The Hosts of Ulthuan - High Elven Overhaul

Description
Welcome to The Hosts of Ulthuan, an Overhaul of the High Elven roster to be more unique and more lore friendly. So what's included within the mod?

Command Group
All units on this mod, both vanilla and new ones, now have a full Command Group including officer, standard bearer and musician, even cavalry units have it! All units have an unique and custom banner.

Note: some units, such as rangers, will not have standard bearer, because of their role in battle.

Elven Kingdoms and AOR System
Now each elven faction (including the Outpost) in both campaigns have unique core troops (Spearmen, Both archers and both Silver Helms), with unique heraldry, officers and banners (each faction have 2-3 banner variations) and unit cards. Each Kingdoms units have their unique visual appearance, with new armors, helmets... Some kingdoms like Ellyrion will be a more "old school" style, while Eataine will be more "vanilla like" style, with Saphery or Yvresse been a mix of both. The main goal is to make each faction as unique as possible. Imrik will use Caledor units, and Teclis will use Saphery units.

For example, all Saphery units (and Swordmasters of Hoeth) now have monolith pieces in their armor, as they have in the lore. Yvresse standard bearers will have antlers decorating their helmets, Caledorian officers will have dragon crest in their. And more little details.

Each faction has its own units, but an AOR system has been implemented (only for the player). How does it work? When you conquer the capital of the other kingdoms and build the Landmark, you'll gain access to that Kingdom units. These units are a bit better than the vanilla ones, they come with their kingdom heraldry, colors, shields, banners, unit cards...

Note: only the player have access to the AOR mechanic, the AI doesnt manage it very well, so I kept it only for the player.
Note 2: you can still play (in custom battle) the vanilla Spearmen, Archers and Silver Helms, they have generic High Elven heraldry in blue/white colors. With custom shield heraldry and banners too.

Elven Gates
The garrisons of the Elven Gates have been edited to make them different in each of the four, they are a bit more difficult than the original ones as they are important fortresses. For example, Griffon Gate now has Shadow Warriors in the garrison, just like in the lore.

All of the Gates now have unique units with the correct heraldry, banners and colors. Gate Guard units now have shields too. In custom battle all these units are listed under "Campaign Exclusive".

Dragon Gate: Although not present in campaign, I added his units in custom battle, just for fun. With custom heraldy and banners too.

Gate changes are for both player and AI.

Vanilla Changes
Vanilla units receive a command group, as well as a reskin to add more variety, lore friendly, including more heads, more hair colors... The banners are unique to each unit. Vanilla units have their unit cards edited to be in line with the Kingdom unique unit cards. The Vanilla Silver Guard has been renamed to "Highborn Spearmen", and a new regiment of renown called the Silverin Guard has been added, with the correct heraldry and a more lore accuratte look. Each Eltharion's Mistwalker unit now have a unique look, they're no longer clones with different weapons, I tried to be accurate with both the role in game and the lore and official artwork.

RoR Units
Four new RoR units have been added to the High Elves roster:
  • Revenants of Khaine
  • Silverin Guard, with the correct heraldry, not the vanilla one.
  • Dragonspine Princes, a new Dragon Princes RoR unit.
  • Eataine Guard. For this one, I took inspiration from both the official artwork and lore, and from some conversions.
  • More to come, already working in some others from the official artwork

Elven Phalanx
I gave all elven spear units an unique abillity, they can form a phalanx, which give them +10 defense, +5 attack and +5 leadership. The formation also remove the charge bonus from the units chargin against the phalanx. Units can move while in phalanx, but not run.

i am aware that making such a great mode isn't easy but at this point we are starting to think your dead.

Hope the transition to W3 is going alright!

I greatly enjoyed using this mod on W2 and believe you did fantastic work here. It quickly became a permanent fixture in my mod list and I can’t wait for you to drop it on W3.

Hallo! Great mod but is ther a chance to tweak something to maka AoR mechanic quicker - its so long to wait to the endgame to build a thematic army for each kingdom is there some cgance to recruit units regionally as you confederate - mayby limit numbers of units and their types to tier of capital? Or to certain buildings?
