Ever felt like Forest stalker was a lame design that encouraged camping, being very un-wood elf like and instead wanted a more stereo type “hit and run in the forest” type of playstyle?

This mod enables the wood elves to get increased movement speed and attack in forests (20% bonus each), making the forests excellent area's to fall back through or pull enemies in, as all your units become excellent mobile hit and run units.

I did however remove all the other "buffs" including the defence (15%) and accuracy (50%) buff, as I felt they didn't really fit with the wood elf theme and felt extremely lame.

Is it overpowered?
Absolutely not, as it encourages the player to use movement to his advantage, which is a unique and complex mechanic that is only effective if the player knows how to isolate units and perform hit and run attacks. Or, you know, skirmish the enemy with missile units at close range where the trees barely block their shots.

I'm sorry that this mod is so wierd, its just some personal experimental project
I only published it to see if people had any ideas on feedback, as i did want to rework the forest stalker trait

another thing to mention is that the low tier defense units of the wood elves feel like "normal" units, while the unique wardancers and stuff have a wide formation, which is very poor against charges, so giving them a special edge in the forest seems fair.
in other words, the wood elves have unique elite glass cannon wide formation infantry units, that could use a bit of support due to their many shortcomings and now the forests buffs their strengths.

the other mod removes all combat bonusses and instead provides speed boosts
this one only modifies woodland stalker and DOES provide a combat bonus

Oh, ok! So with your other mod aquatics still have those? And will forest unit aquire bonuses from this mod? Or you want to differentiate them, this mod being about buffing forest units, and that mod being about terrain only?

in the base game amphibious units get +10% and +20% extra melee/attack
while others lose 20% melee attack, therefore amphibious units should destroy almost anything in the water, this mod simply focusses on wood elf forest stalker, as 15% defense and 50% extra accuracy sounds like a poorly designed mechanic that has very little logic behind it, usually terrain knowlege gives you an edge in attacking, not defending

Does this attack speed addition included in your other terrain mod? For aquatic units attack speed is even more logical, because irl amphibian warfare is always draining in the first place. So for someone who feels "like a fish" in water, it's logical to fight better.

This change is most noticeable on elite wood elf melee infantry, as wood elf cavalry is already at the speed limit, and have a large charge bonus over high melee attack.
I hope this change makes hit and running with elite wood elf melee infantry, and skirmishing at close range with ranged infantry easier
