Introduction to the aircraft:

The McDonnell Douglas DC-9 (initially the Douglas DC-9) is a single-aisle airliner designed by the Douglas Aircraft Company. After introducing its heavy DC-8 in 1959, Douglas approved the smaller, all-new DC-9 for shorter flights on April 8, 1963. The DC-9-10 first flew on February 25, 1965 and gained its type certificate on November 23, to enter service with Delta Air Lines on December 8. With five seats across in economy, it had two rear-mounted Pratt & Whitney JT8D turbofans under a T-tail for a cleaner wing, a two-person flight deck and built-in airstairs.

About the -30 series:

roduced in passenger version only. The first DC-9 Series 30 flew on August 1, 1966, and the first delivery was to Eastern Airlines on February 27, 1967 after certification on December 19, 1966. Basic MTOW of 98,000 lb (44,000 kg) and subsequently certificated at weights up to 108,000 lb (49,000 kg).

Some of the features of the original airliner could not be implomented due to size limitations as this is a 1:1 replica!

12. When both engines are on turn off APU Bus Ties, Air, Fuel Pump, APU itself

16. When Taxing throttle should be between 5-15%

After Takeoff
1. Throttle No more than 80%
2. Gear Up
3. Flaps Up
4. Max Altitude no more than 2500
5. Radio 1,2 On

Noteable things about the aircraft:
1. Alt Hold and Heading Hold are very sensitive and should be used with caution.
2. Max Fuel capacity is just over 20,000, which means that the plane could barely make it to the arctic and should then be refueled to fly back.
3. When refueling don't turn off the engines as the battery is being drained and after refueling the 3 tanks from 0 to full it would be almost impossible to start the engines back up.
4.Thrust spoilers and engine reversers are turned on automatically if throttle is below 5%
