RMS Tropic 1913

Marren line was beginning to fall behind with all the new ocean liners from Cunard and White star so Marren line proposed to build 4 new ships in the Oceanic class these ships would become some of the largest in the world just behind Lusitania and Mauretania. This new class of ships would have the new gantry davits to save deck space and keeping nice sea views. The interiors would also be some of the grandest in the world with sweeping lounges and dining rooms and keeping a luxurious look. The ships would also accommodate 3 classes 1st, 2nd and 3rd the fourth ship in this new class would be RMS Tropic which was completed in 1913. She would have several differences to her sisters such as the removal of the forward gantry davits for more deck space for first class. She also now has her promenade enclosed. She would run for another year until the beginning of WW1 when she was pulled from service and became a hospital ship like her sister RMS Baltic but only a year into her service she struck rocks and drifted into deeper waters. The crew managed to launch all lifeboats resulting in the death of only 9 people from the boiler room.
