IK Pegasi B goes supernova.

In this minimalist simulation, the white dwarf IK Pegasi B, about 150 light-years away from our solar system, becomes a supernova. However, it is believed that in the course of time that will be necessary for the conditions favorable to the stellar explosion to mature, the system will have made a movement away from the solar system. In fact, given its space speed of 20.4 km/s, the star moves away one light year every 14,700 years and in 5 million years the star will be more than 500 light years away from the solar system.
