Lore:

With the humans losing tank battles to Skaar and MCRN, the military commanders ordered up a new battle platform with 2 goals in mind. Goal one, to win the battle. Goal 2 to put such fear in there opponents that they simply surrender, avoiding conflict all together. Well, this was the thinking before uniting with the MCRN and in some cases the Skaar in a desperate fight against the Kriel. As it is now, many of these state of the art tanks have been deployed across the galaxy to engage land based Kriel installations.

Important information

The Phalanx Siege Tank requires ~130,000 CPU which can be done by adding 13 quantum cores or other CPU options. There are locations to add even more cores if upgrading weaponry.

Offense and Defense

The armor is a high breed combat steel / hardened steel mix. It does not rely on bulk layered armor like most tanks. Instead it applies a defense strategy based around the concept of the "The best block is not to be there", meaning, the interior front of the tank is designed to be destroyed, offering the lowest yield turrets as targets with nothing worth while around or below the turrets to protect. The tank is designed for frontal attacks and can lay down firepower of all turrets at once. This includes: 11 minigun turrets (Front - working but also decoys), 15 plasma turrets (mid section), 13 missile turrets (mid rear sections), and 3 artillery turrets (rear). The tank also has 2 16K ammo boxes, heavy shield, and for it size is quite fast. The crew area of tank behind an additional firewall. (3rd person view only). It also has another firewall in the back interior to help protect the rear entry.

Survival Features

It comes with 2x16k ammo boxes, 3 cargo boxes, HV med bay, clone chamber, constructor, fridge, detector, wifi, o2 and dispenser, 2 passenger seats, locations to add CPU core blocks as well as additional adv. generators.

Technical specs

The Phananx can fit thru a 5x9 hangar door (tight fit). The curb weight 282 tons unloaded. It can achieve 50 ms forward, 44 ms left and right, and 35 ms in reverse. In between the outer hull and interior along the sides, there was block row left empty to simply reduce weight. Also it has some hidden open block areas on the front sides of the interior. Weight was a big enemy to the build and much was done to lesson the load so the tank could move and handle better.

Notes: The goal of this build was to create a "quantum tank", able to take on tough shielded POI's solo without fearing for your life. It uses a large number of turrets to place very heavy firepower on the target which also makes for quicker battles, hopefully taking less damage in return.
