I double checked my maps and other sources. And yeah, you are totally right.
Your mods are perfect as they are.
The vulture knows which devil has ridden me there.
Probably the time, it was late ^^
Sry XD
Looking at the lakes, admittedly that may place Velzna more in the Vesnth province than in the current Velzna one, but certainly not in Icuvium.
On the name, I decided to stick with "Etruria" as it's the name used in English, which is consistent with the rest of the game.
I stumbled recently over an alternative:
"Dodekapoli"
This was in ancient times a name for a association of 12 etruscan cities.
A real etruscan name, although ancient, but not this, raped by romans, name. Our "Etruscan" comes from the latin "Tuscii" after all.
There is just 1 problem. There exists allready a province with a similar name in the game.
Theres clearly a change needed in order to avoid missunderstandings.
Swap the names, i would say. Call the province "Etruria" and the formable nation "Dodekapoli". That would also make sense for the roman players.
The capital.
It was Volsinii. The etruscan name is Velzna.
Its still not entirely clear where it was located at.
Suspicions suggest that it was in modern day Orvieto.
The latest archaeological findings made it pretty clear. They found something what they consider a sanctuary. The Fanum Voltumnae to be precise.
But still, just suspisions. But better then anything else.
And that would be in Umbria, Icuvium in game.
So you had to relocate the city/nation.
I hope this helps to make the game/your mod much more immersive.
Some Etruscan city states switched back to monarchy (I think it was Veii in any case), and came into disfavour among the others because of it.
