Luna Landing Park

Description
Shooting for the Moon!
It’s the middle of the 21st Century and Ch5 Industries has grown to a multi trillion dollar enterprise, overtaking Disney with the most profitable and visited theme parks on the planet. Setting their eyes to the sky, they decided to build the very first off world park on the Moon. This $3.5 trillion dollar investment resulted in Luna Landing, built outside Tyson Base.

Luna Landing prizes itself in having all the amenities you expect on your Earthly parks. Fresh oxygen is cycled throughout the domed park, and gravity pumps make your strides and rides feel natural. The entrance station is directly connected to Tyson Base’s transportation network. Once entering, our monorail will take you through a secure airlock, across the lunar surface, and into the heart of the park. Please note that gravity pumps are not located outside on the lunar surface, so to avoid sickness all guests are advised to remain seated on the monorail. If you would like to extend your stay, visit our hotel suites which have both luxury and economy rooms.

While we aim to create as close to an Earthly experience as possible, please observe these three rules during your visit to Luna Landing and any Moon base:
  1. Enjoy the starlit view from our state-of-the-art domes and tunnels, but do not put physical force on any of the glass or support structures, including leaning on them.
  2. Take note of the location of Emergency Oxygen stations. In the unlikely event of decompression, expanding foam will automatically spray at the site of breach, giving you time to take shelter.
  3. It is harder to remove trash on the Moon than on earth. Please use bins and do not litter.

The Rides
Please see the Park Map screenshot (last screenshot) for the location of each ride. Here's a list of track rides:
  • Lunar Shuttle: This monorail takes you from the entrance station at the edge of the crater to the central park.
  • Solara: The longest and fastest coaster in the park. Solara accelerates you through an array of space and science-fiction themes. Orbit around an artificial sun, meander around a space battle, and more.
  • Neon: A casual dark ride which takes you through numerous neon coloured displays. See a Rubik’s cube solve itself and visit a neon forest. Epilepsy warning
  • Space Pirates Attack: An interactive shooting ride based on the critically acclaimed new 2050 series Space Pirates. You, the captain of an interplanetary vessel, have to defend your ship against a pirate raid. Fight your way from the Bridge through the mess hall, sleeping quarters, and many other parts of the ship for a final showdown at the end.
  • Kerbal Space Program: The game that inspired a generation of space explorers is now a family-friendly roller coaster.
  • Saturn V: The famous Saturn V, the rocket that brought humanity to the Moon, has been immortalised as one of Luna Landing’s feature rides. Climb up the launch tower next to a replica of the historic rocket and watch it blast off.
  • Moon Racers: Race around a track that carves through the edge of the crater and experience amazing visual of the park.
  • Terra and Luna: A new type of duelling coaster called an Orbiting Duelling Coaster. Luna’s track “orbits” around the dominant Terra coaster the way the Moon orbits the Earth

Flat Rides:
  • Bumper Asteroids: Bumper cars that bang into each other like asteroids
  • Apoapsis: A giant Ferris Wheel that takes you high above the park
  • Rocket Spin: A family-friendly spinning ride that gives you views of the lunar crater
  • Gravity: Experience the force of gravity
  • Shuttle: High-G action on a replica of the historic Space Transport System
  • Dyson Sphere: Spin around the inside of a science fiction Shield World, where everything is down.
Other:
All staff and out of bounds areas are fully themed for realism. The Lunar Suites hotel has two interiors you can visit, the penthouse luxury suite and an economy room below. There is one Pink Penguin hidden in the park (no, not the one on the Neon ride).
There are Easter eggs to both Channel5 Gaming and Thunder Nation!

Running the Park, Technical
This park contains around 200,000 pieces. No TMTK or custom content. The park should run well on most mid-level machines. I get 30-35 FPS (NVIDIA GTX 1060, 3GB VRAM, i7 2.60 GHz CPU) with 750 guests unpaused (35-40 when paused). The park contains a custom skybox. The distance of the skybox was determined mathematically to prevent apparent motion of the custom stars when moving throughout the park, and maintain the illusion of being extremely far away. Moving outside the boundaries of the park domes may break that illusion. The park is meant to be run at 10:00 PM game time. Changing the time breaks the illusion and scenery.

Compatibility mode: for a no-guests version of this park, Click Here. Rides are also closed, to run place into test mode.
