Class Introduction
The Arsonist is a mid-ranged damage dealer who shines best in ranks 3 and 2 that can employ various ranged and melee abilities. Although very agile the Arsonist can be a bit fragile at times, this can be neglected with the use of his support skills that prolong his life and fix his positioning. The Arsonist as his name implies, loves using fire to burn and kill his enemies. His molotov cocktails have a special and powerful actor dot that does damage to enemies after they attack in battle while his powerful incinerate skill can clear the entire battlefield but at the risk of his own safety.

COMBAT SKILLS

Slashing Strike - Use:XXOO | Target:OOOX

The Arsonist furiously slashes at an enemy with his fire iron.
Can cause minor bleed damage and applies speed debuff to target

Molotov Cocktail - Use:OOXX | Target:XOOO

The Arsonist throws a Molotov at his target dealing minor damage and lighting them a flame.
Applies a special actor dot that deals damage over time anytime the target attacks. Also applies a debuff that increases the target’s crits received.
Gains +5 Torchlight

Incinerate - Use:XOOX | Target:O-O-O-O

The Arsonist grabs a torch and blows a large ball of fire at his enemies instantly incinerating them.
Large AoE move that can clear corpses and inflicts self damage. Corpses help reduce self damage.
Gains +15 Torchlight

Hot-Headed - Use:OOOO

The Arsonist provokes nearby enemies into attacking him, luring them into a false sense of security.
The Arsonist moves forward and actives riposte. Also pulls an enemy forward by 1.
Has a chance to gain a single block.

Smoke Bomb - Use:XXXO | Target: O-OXX

Sometimes the Arsonist needs to make a fast retreat. Using smoke bombs as a diversion he can sneak back into the shadows.
The Arsonist moves back 2 while gaining a stealth and a dodge buff.
Smoke bomb also lowers the stun resistance and accuracy of it’s targets.

Cleansing Fire - Use:OOOO

The Arsonist summons the power of fire to cleanse himself of his wounds and boost his resistances.
Clears Blight and Bleed
Buffs resistances to Bleed, Poison, and Disease. 2 uses per battle.

Red Hot Poker - Use:XOOO | Target:OOOX

The Arsonist heats up his fire iron with a torch and thrusts it at an nearby enemy.
Marks and De-stealths a targeted enemy. Ignores protection.

CAMPING SKILLS

Reinforce Armor

Target: Self
Cost: 3
The Arsonist uses his blacksmithing skills to improve his armor. Increases Max HP, Protection, and Stun Resist for 4 Battles.

Everlasting Flame

Target: Party
Cost: 2
The Arsonist creates a powerful torch that lasts longer than usual.
Torch Burn rate is reduced, lowers chance of party being surprised while increasing chance to surprise monsters.

Pyromania

Target: Self
Cost: 2
The Arsonist gazes into the campfire, embracing the flame.
Arsonist relives some stress while increasing his stress resistance. Has a chance to stress out the party members.

Destroy Evil

Target: Party
Cost: 4
The Arsonist instructs his fellow party members on how to take down various creatures.
The entire party receives a damage bonus and crit buff against both Beasts and Eldritch.

Cool concept, however I find his abilities to be too strong. The molotov burning mechanic is just too absurdly overpowered. Giving him CRIT + DMG trinkets will make him almost wipe 3 enemies with the AOE attack.

Hey, I'm a big fan of the mod. Would you consider buffing a few of the character's trinkets? The "Topical Burning Balm" in particular is a straight downgrade to the vanilla recovery charm.

While the character design and idea is cool I don't see the reason to have self inflicted damage with his own abilities, makes me not wanna use the character altogether

Arsonist has been a blast to use in the fire team (Arso Corsair Salad Runaway). Like others have said though, some parts of his kit feel weird or throwaways. There's almost no reason to use slashing strike over Red Hot Poker unless you're using him to fill a niche slot in a bleed team, Hot-Headed feels like a weird skill to give him until you get fire glass shards, and even then I think HWM and MAA are better riposters than him. Smoke Bomb I'm actually fine with, rank 3 is more or less his ideal spot, and if he gets surprised to the front, it really helps him quickly get back in position while still doing something useful.

Pretty fun mod. makes the Runaway from DD2 seem weak/less useful. has versatility, adds torch and a mark/reposte. easily fun to use.

Love the guy, the design is awsome, the moves look awsome. Just one problem I have with it is that ''Molotov'' and ''Incinerate'' numbers are switched when looking at his skills which is not even a big deal.(It says that molotov should deal 12 dmg overtime and incinerate should deal 6 self dmg which would be just too overpowered)

This is probably one of my least favorite mod classes I've tested out. It doesn't really feel like he belongs in any party comp. Hot-Headed, Smoke Bomb, and Cleansing Fire just seem like throwaway abilities. Are there any synergies he's supposed to have with other classes, mod or vanilla? He has a mark ability without any other abilities that work with mark, a singular bleed ability that isn't anything special. Molotov Cocktail and Incinerate are his only fairly interesting abilities, and the only thing those tell me as far as party comp is that I should probably bring a healer. He seems far too general, and no seemingly no niche at all.

I always thought his Molotov dealing random damage, being hard to hit and only acting after an enemy attack was to keep this character balanced.
I mean as it stands right now Arsonist has fantastic aoe damage with Incinerate and then he also gets a fantastic ranged attack in Molotov that deals insane damage. There have to be some drawbacks to using this powerhouse after all.

Personally I think it's an allright character who is powerful in the right situations but I would not build an entire group around him which is sadly when he shines most. Still definitely a solid choice for pretty much any dungeon.
