Pvina - sea and rivers

Beskrivning
Pvina. The map allows for a developed sea/river borne supply chain, and can be used by players at all levels.

The design includes
+ Carefully located and constrained resources to allow for a considered approach to complexity in start up location choice and development.
+ Export: River border access to Socialist states and NATO. Also sea border access. A limited placement of customs points - all large, with power. 2x Socialist, 2x NATO. Plus 1x power only Pangkor Island.
+ An initial placement of an elevated road bridge (ship navigable) across the navigable river, so you can choose if you want a land link (or delete it). A second one and a rail bridge links a customs point on an offshore border island.
+ Deepwater, partially navigable rivers with space for inland small dock facilities and the sea, for ships.
+ A desire for a diffuse approach to settlement development, rather than a metropolitan or industrial megaplex.
+ A large flat area, giving flexibility in placement and growth options.
+ Most resources are elevated, or oceanbed and so are a small challenge (some easier coal is close to each customs point).
+ Few cosmetic trees placed, to assist players with technical constraints (easy to add).
+ About 1,000 workers can be available in border towns. Simply select inhabitants in set up (useful if disaster strikes without spiking imigrant costs).
+ Keywords: HMC, cosmonaut, challenge, hard, medium

A thanks to Bertrios on discord for some technical advice.
FYI. The map originates from the area close to Pangkor Malaysia, but considerable liberty has been made with topography to improve game playability & balance, and then geographically teleported to the hypothetical area of Pvina to allow for four seasons.

Enjoy!

If you have an issue where your mouse is frozen on certain areas of the map, try going to your save folder and deleting "collision.dta" and "quadree.sta".) i think its a fix you can try on your saves, sadly it doesn't work on the map editor though.

Canuck. I am advised if you terraform with normal game editor (not landscape editor) it should re set the bad nodes. Apparently it is a random thing and can occur on the in-game map generator as well.

Thanks Canuck. I am glad you enjoyed the challenge. That area of nodes is a problem I am still working on. I duplicated the map in making it and it caused some node issues just in that one small area. As you say it is a small area and does not impede enjoyment.

I do have a new map I have been using with a large estuary and many rivers linking all borders. It is done in a similar challenging style, even more options especially for barge and ship use, and I am going to share it soon.

Great map, I have thoroughly enjoyed the challenges and variety of options available to meet the needs of my burgeoning republic. There is a glitch along the north boundary that makes it extremely tough to use that iron deposit. Drawing tools seem to freeze or join points wont link to drawing tools.

Small issue as the other 95%of the map is great.

Thanks Kugelfang. I replicated the problem. Then rebuilt in the master map. No change, other than determining there is some kind of interference in that map immediate node/location. If you have an established game, then you will have to go into landscape editor and insert a new NATO customs post a little bit removed geographically.

(A customs post (NATO) cannot be connected for some reason. Perhaps it can be fixed.)
