Royal Caribbean Sovereign-Class Cruise Ship

Description
NOTICE: LIMIT THE WIND TO PREVENT THE SHIP FROM CAPSIZING. with the 1.0 update they nerfed the stabilization system I use on these ships. I'm hunting around for a new one but my searches are in vein so far.

It's time to "Get Out There" with Royal Caribbean! Welcome aboard my miniature replica of Sovereign of the Seas, circa 2005. HOW TO START THE SHIP
To start the ship, you must first turn on the engines. To do this make your way to the Engine Control Room Located on deck one. This is accessed from the crew area which can be reached via the Galley aft of the Mirage Dining Room on Deck 2 or backstage at the Follie's Main Theater at the back of Deck 3. Once you are in the crew area head there's a hinged door on the port side of the main crew hallway which leads to some stairs down to Deck 1. AT the bottom of the stairs there are 2 doors. The right one leads to the Engine Control Room.

Once you are in the Engine Control Room, Press the buttons to start the port and starboard Fuel and Coolant Pumps. Then turn the keys to start the port and starboard engines.

Once that is done you can make your way to the bridge at the front of Deck 5. The bridge is accessed through a door in the back of the Windjammer Cafe.

Once on the bridge, simply push the engine throttle and clutch forward to get the ship moving.

NOTES
-The simplest way to use the autopilot is to set a waypoint on your map. Then head to the keyboard on the bridge labeled autopilot target and press the compass icon to import that waypoint. Then press the "Autopilot On/Off" Button to engage the autopilot. Note that you can't use the helm while the autopilot is active.

SHIP HISTORY
When the Sovereign-Class enter service in the late 80's/early 90's it revolutionized cruising. Built and Chantiers de l'Atlantique, the design of the 3 ships of the class, often called the world's first mega cruise ships, borrowed a lot from the SS Normadie which was also built at Chantiers de l'Atlantique. The first to enter service was "Sovereign of the Seas" followed by "Monarch of the Seas" & "Majesty of the Seas".

SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS
When she started sailing for Royal Caribbean in 1988 she was based in the Port of Miami conducting cruises to the Caribbean and the Bahamas. In the late 90s, about midway through her career with Royal Caribbean her home-port was moved to Port Canaveral where she sailed itineraries that visited ports in the Bahamas including Nassau and CoCoCay. In late 2004 she was drydocked in Freeport and received a major renovation.

In late 2008 she was retired from the Royal Caribbean fleet and transferred to Pullmantur Cruises, a Spanish cruise line owned by Royal Caribbean International. There she was renamed "Sovereign".

In 2020, her sailing were suspended due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and she laid up in Malta. On June 22, 2020 Pullmantur announced that they where reorganizing the company due to the strain of the cruise pause. "Sovereign" along with her sister , "Monarch", where stripped of their fittings and sold to a scrapyard. On July 23, 2020 "Sovereign" arrived in Aliaga, Turkey to be scrapped. There she was beached and the process of dismantling the vessel is underway as of August 31, 2020.

MONARCH OF THE SEAS
Joining the fleet as the middle child of the class, "Monarch of the Seas" started sailing in 1991 out of Port Miami. Like "Sovereign of the Seas", she was transferred to Port Canaveral in the late 90s.

In 1998 she was holed on her starboard side after striking a reef. The captain beached the vessel to prevent further sinking. She was towed to Mobile, Alabama to be repaired.

In 2007 she became the first major cruise ship to have a female captain.

In 2013 she was transferred to Pullmantur Cruises and renamed "Monarch".

When the COVID-19 pandemic forced the cruise industry to grind to a halt, she was laid up in Malta. When Pullmantur announced their reorganization in late June, she was stripped of all of her valuables and sent to Aliaga, Turkey to be scrapped. She was beached at the scrapyard on July 22, 2020 and is awaiting her turn to be dismantled.

MAJESTY OF THE SEAS
Entering service in 1992, "Monarch of the Seas" was the third and final ship of the class. Like her sisters she spent much of her career sailing from Florida. In 2007 she received a major multi-million-dollar refurbishment.

In 2014 Royal Caribbean announced plans to transfer her to Pullmantur however those plans where rolled back and she remained with Royal Caribbean. She received another multi-million-dollar refit in 2016.

In 2018 it was planned for her to join "Empress of the Seas" in offering cruises to Cuba out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Those plans where scrubbed when the US Government reinstated the Cuban Travel Ban. In January 2020 she was moved to New Orleans to conduct 7-day-cruises to the Bahamas.

When the COVID-19 Pandemic put cruising on hold "Majesty of the Seas" was laid up at CoCoCay with the rest of the Royal Caribbean Fleet. She was recently transferred to Portsmouth in the UK where she awaits her return to service as the last Sovereign-Class ship.

A PERSONAL NOTE: I sailed on "Sovereign of the Seas" in the summer of 2005. As my first Royal Caribbean vessel she will always hold a special place in my heart. This replica is intended as a tribute to her and the wonderful time had on board her. It's been gut wrenching to watch her go but her memory will live on in those who had the pleasure of sailing on her.
