History:
Takrur was the capital of a former West African state competing with the Ghanaian empire, attracting the gold trade by the road along the Atlantic Ocean. Located in the middle valley of the Senegal River, the gold trade (exploited in the Bambouk region), Awlil salt and cereals from the Sahel, as well as the black trade are practiced. The kingdom converted to Islam in the eleventh century. According to Portuguese sources, around 1510, gold from the Tekrour feeds two annual caravans which, through the Fezzan, bring to Egypt the yellow metal "in large quantity".

Rise and Fall is needed. Compatible with Gathering Storm.
