Known Precursor

Description
This mod allows you to select what precursors you can find while playing. You can select anywhere from not getting any precursor up to getting all of them.
The selection menu will pop up once you hit begin. If added at a later stage the menu can be opened by running event precursor_selection.1 in console.

Baol and Zroni will only be available for selection if you or the host owns Ancient Relics DLC.
Baol and Zroni dig-sites will spawn nearby your starting system.

Mutiplayer
Should work fine with some limitations.
  • Any precursor marked as unique can only be started by one player.
  • Normal vanilla behavior will remain so if two or more players select the same precursor only the one that completes the chain first will spawn in the precursor system.

Compatibility
Stellaris 3.9.*
Not Achivement compatible.
No vanilla files were harmed.
Has built in compatibility with Precursor Story Pack, Forgotten History and More Precursors

Localization
If you want to help with translation check out the github source at the end.

Check out my other mod Tier Numbers: Techs that add tier indicator to tech icons that is missing them.

Thank you again Oskar!

Extract the zip file to documents/paradox interactive/stellaris/mod/
Now you should have a folder that starts with Known-Precursor in your mod folder. Rename that folder to KnownPrecursor.
Now you go into that folder and find the file called descriptor.mod
Copy that file into the mod folder and rename it to KnownPrecursor
Now open that file in any text editor and add this to a new line at the end of the file: path="mod/KnownPrecursor"
Now if you open the launcher it should be in the mod list.

Oskar... thank you! I found it and now have it. But, being crap at computers, what do I do with it? Do I need to put it in the Paradox Interactive folder under Windows Program Files?

You can access old versions on github. https://github.com/oskar94/Known-Precursor/tree/d3ac005d43a6897d59e5b9b3f138dcf3af18e1ff should work for 2.6.x
Click code then download as zip

Oskar? Don't want to sound pushy, but I'm 72 and may not have all that long to be playing...

Oskar, if you're still monitoring these comments, do you still have any old betas available for this great mod? I'm not fond of the way Stellaris has gone and far prefer playing an older beta such as the Verne 2.6.3.

Does anyone know of a "choose precursor" mod that works with 3.7.4 AKA "Canis Minor"?

@Voidseeker There is a more updated mod like this one here:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3039370479

It doesn't fire on day one, but the selection should pop up ~1 month into the game. It has more mod precursors and the storm precursors as well.

When I select multiple precursors *the all precursors appears at the same game.* Is it your intention?
